Her career is over, even if she isn't fired. At a minimum, she should be removed from any authority over other SS agents who may be called on to protect Trump.

She may not have ever been on a track for a WH detail but that doesn't preclude her having some responsibility in local protection activities when the President or his representatives are in her area. It was a real dumb ass move and she thought she was too cute by half with her little Hatch Act dance-around...not quite:

I would say that is not a good career move on her part.

Not good by half, first SS agents and a special class of federal employees. They are called 'at will employees' meaning they can be let go for just about any reason. They serve at the pleasure of the president. The have almost no civil service protection, no union, no right to arbitration or the appeal their firing to the MSPB.

Their only recourse to to sue in federal court, an expensive and fruitless proposition.

Additionally she is in management with a higher expectation of professionalism. She is toast.
