Husband - illegal

They were considering divorce at the time of the arrest.
Sounds like she was spending all her time in activism and forgot to make her husband and kids a priority.

I'm sorry for his family but I'm pleased that his drunk wife presumably harmed no one but herself while driving drunk and that if she does it again it will be in Spain. His contension that My wife is not a criminal, something that can happen to anybody is false. It's an easy crime not to commit. If she has a route to reenter the US legally, fine, if not, fine. No reason the family can't return to Spain with her. I'd also like to see CASA's payroll checked to see if they're employing other illegals.

But Uruchi’s adolescence in Spain, where she saw women say and do what they wanted, had left the 4-foot-11 immigrant unafraid of speaking out.

That worked out well!

In 2014, she was hired full time as a Virginia community organizer.

By whom?

BTW, if WaPo runs a feature length article on every illegal alien deported for breaking the law, you’ll have no ability to report on anything else AND go bankrupt. On second thought, not a bad idea after all! Keep up the good work WaPo and become the outlet of record for illegal alien deportation reporting and quite wasting resources on reporting on other lesser-important stories.

CASA: http://wearecasa.org/services/

In 2013, Uruchi began to get involved in activism. Deportations had reached an all-time high of more than 409,000 the previous year. But Uruchi’s adolescence in Spain, where she saw women say and do what they wanted, had left the 4-foot-11 immigrant unafraid of speaking out. After meeting Casa employees at an event at the Salvadoran Embassy in D.C., she began attending the group’s events. Soon, she was organizing them. In 2014, she was hired full time as a Virginia community organizer.

They make it sound like she left Spain to escape her step father. If that’s the case, she could have moved into her own place down the street.

She left Spain to meet a guy she met online who was living in the US.

She’s actually Bolivian, but moved to Spain as a teen and got her citizenship. I think it’s her Step father who is a Spaniard.

She went to the US to meet a guy online with a 30 day visa. Overstayed her visa while dating and marrying her illegal Bolivian husband. They have 2 children who were born here.

They were discussing divorce. She went out and thats when she got pulled over.

She obviously did not think about how their actions could effect their kids anymore than she thought about the consequences of drinking & driving.

It is irritating when I hear about these ‘anchor children’. The parents were quite selfish to gamble their future and putting their children in a bad situation when went on to have children here as an illegal alien.

Thank you, you know more about her than I could find out.

Sounds like they can simply relocate to Bolivia. Or she and the kids, or whatever the divorce courts decide.

I love your analogy, She obviously did not think about how their actions could effect their kids anymore than she thought about the consequences of drinking & driving. I get that, but doesn't get her a free pass.

There are circumstances I'd be symphathetic about here, but I come back to an illegal working for a company counseling illegals on how to stay here. That should be looked into. It's tragic for the family. As are many circumstances triggered by divorce or alcohol abuse. Maybe if we had rational immigration policies, she'd be deserving of mercy. Though I'm not sure mercy is necessarily the rold of government. I admit, it's a lousy situation.

Husband her arrest “something that can happen to anybody.”

No. It only happens to those who drive while intoxicated. I can drink with the best of them, but I stay off of the roads if there is no designated driver.

She did this to her family.
