When CNN launched, Ted Turner boasted that it would be on the air nonstop until the literal end of the world. He even had a final tape ready to broadcast. It's still on CNN's servers with instructions "do not broadcast until end of the world is confirmed".

Nope. CNN hasn't been a reliable source of information since probably 1985. I remember when it started they would not "speculate" on anything, yet, by 1985 they were doing teaser titles and speculating.

I used to watch the INCESSANT coverage of MH370 as if it was a comedy show.

That dorky British guy who was some kind of an air disaster authority and Gen. McInerney insisting the plane was hidden in Afghanistan.

They even had a simulated cockpit.

It went on for weeks and was quite amusing. The absolute horror of so many people missing didn’t seem to be part of the equation.

In order for CNN to get credibility (did they ever have it to be begin with?) they would have to fire every anchor and reporter that they presently employee.
