TSA 'choke points' kept Trump supporters off the Mall (Only 12 TSA checkpoints admitting people)

Not only did anti-Trump professional protesters disrupt and block inaugural attendees, but security checkpoints also kept untold numbers of Trump supporters from getting through to the National Mall to witness the president take the oath of office.

An online search for information about the security checkpoints revealed the following:

Six hundred fifty thousand general admission attendees were expected with 12 TSA checkpoints along the parade route and the mall. Two hundred fifty thousand who had tickets were processed through separate checkpoints. The TSA said they could screen 1,500 people per hour. So it would take 36 hours to process 18,000 per hour if crowds were evenly distributed throughout the day before the event.

Did the powers that be want to restrict access to Trump's inauguration so the media could claim that the crowds were much smaller than Obama's? And how in the world did 2 million people make it onto the mall back in 2008 if these same restrictions were in place?

A friend who attended told exactly this story. They barely got through and said that they had to navigate both checkpoints AND a wall of protester bodies blocking them.

This article tells the truth

That is interesting and first time I heard this. 36 hours?! Sounds like TSA undermined Trump? Hopefully that is address quickly—like fire TSA.

TSA is probably the very first government agency I would have dissolved had I become President.

They have no reason for being, no track record of success, and a litany of transgressions against the freedom rights of American Citizens.

It, along with the DHS, is perhaps the worst thing that W ever did. Shame on him. Shame on him!

DISBAND THEM!

Also:

DC area is LOADED with gov’t employees (who obviously vote for more government) who could easily attend a Dem or RINO inauguration.

Trump’s supporters are heartlanders. I, for one, couldn’t afford a day off work and travel costs.

This factoid was hushed and is still being ignored by the enemedia. Yet, Americans watching on FNC and C-SPAN could tell (and remarked to each other) that there was an unusual hold-up of entrants to the area.

I think "TSA" says it all.

No, I don’t think so. Those who attended are just now returning home to tell their stories.

Why would you keep an agency that fails to do it’s job 95% of the time

I used to fly with a screwdriver kit in my bag. It was cheap, and I could replace it quickly if I needed to ($20) but the hour of time it saved me on-site was worth it if I could keep it.

I traveled with it in my bag AT LEAST 2 dozen times, until a TSA agent finally stopped it.

Can someone tell me what "transportation" issue is at stake that required TSA to operate entry stations at the Mall in DC?

From the TSA Website:

Mission

Protect the nation's transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce.

Are my legs now a federally secured transportation system?

Who gives a crap? I don't care if 3 people showed up. We won. We are conservatives, therefore, we are pragmatic. We chose not to stand in the cold rain out of emotion.

We want results. Jobs. Dead ISIS bodies. Prosecutions. Deportations. Lower taxes. Exploding liberal heads.

Yes, agreed. President Trump missed his Day One promises regarding executive orders and actions. He doesn’t need further distractions on Day Two. Lets see end to illegal alien amnesty today, including rescinding their work authorization.

I was informed of this fact by a friend who just returned home yesterday. This article is timely.

I care about this because the president cares about it.

It is about honesty and correct information.

The TSA is a jobs program for the most part.

I understand some airports are finding they get better results hiring their own security than by using TSA. I didn’t realize that was possible.

You could have called up the Pentagon a week prior and asked them to send over 15,000 of their folks, and they would have easily pulled security duty and eased this fantastic “burden” off TSA. Within a six-hour bus-ride, they could have brought in another 40,000 troops to also assist.

I really don’t know but I’d suspect they did everything they could do to slow down the process. In my opinion, that entire organization could be described as “inside-the-wire sappers.”

I read that the more distant viewing regions did not require a security check before this year. I went unticketed for Bush43 in 2001 and 2005 and did not have to go through a metal detector. There may have been a purse check though I don’t remember. I do remember the disrupting hoards making getting to the mall unpleasant, but not threatening violence. This threat is what kept me away this year.
