The problem is the GOP Congress has been negligent for years. They’ve voted numerous times to eliminate O’care but as events in recent weeks have shown us, they had no plan to replace O’care or deal with the inevitable market repercussions of simply ending the program. It was easy to vote for repeal when they knew Obama would veto a repeal — just a meaningless political game to deceive the GOP voting base.

Likewise, they have no plan ready to go to rebuild infrastructure in the US. Their focus is on pork for their districts, not a visionary effort such as the Interstate Highway program or Transcontinental Railroad which will benefit the entire nation for decades. The GOP Congress quite simply doesn’t want to provide vision and govern. It is filled with political hacks who protect their home turf and curry favor with donors. The party has no vision and no principles.

The Democrats have a socialist vision for America and everything they do is calculated to achieve it. They know how to play the publicity game. Now that Trump is talking infrastructure, they are putting a real infrastructure bill on the table. Meanwhile the GOP leadership hasn’t even thought about drafting a bill for infrastructure, O’care replacement, or anything else. For them to draft a bill will take months. Meanwhile the Dems and media will pound away with the message — we have a bill ready to go, why is the GOP holding up job creation? Meanwhile they will stall Trumps executive branch nominations to keep the executive from formulating and presenting its own agenda.

The GOP has controlled the House for six years and the Senate for 2. What does it have to show in terms of legislation benefitting the people versus benefitting the donor base?

The leaders of the GOP Congress have no vision for the country. When you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there.

Reminds me of the Dem hag (sorry, I cannot remember which Dem hag it was) that basically came out and said ‘we will work with Trump if he does what WE want’. Just a couple of weeks ago....wish I could remember who said it.

Don’t bite on it, Mr. President.

Their plan will be another Obama Porkulus. The money will go to keep funding the Left and not for infrastructure.

Request that Ditz Pelosi read it, first!

“Stimulate demand for copper by building high speed rail.”

The government could stimulate copper demand by casting copper ingots and putting them in the parking lot. Those ingots would have as much value as the high speed choo-choo.

They are asking for federal funding for the private Texas Central Railroad?

For $10 billion?

Not needed, not wanted by most Texans.

Southwest, AA and United all fly at 450 knots and can do the trip in 30 minutes.

So they can scream “He won’t work with us! He lied — he said he wanted to build infrastructure! LIAR! LIAR!”

Do your own plan and use bits and pieces of their plan to peel enough of them away if needed to pass the overall plan.

Hey!! That is unfair. Pelosi said that unemployment payments benefit the economy 2- or 3-1, too! So THERE! :-)

I see Trump “Entertaining” the Dems on their Bill. There is no way that their bill passes Congress, let alone the President as is.

Bus & Train needs a serious cut. Roads & Bridges need a serious boost. Water & Sewage as well.

I expect Trump to pull something to ensure that the contracts for these get spread out and its not all going to Union outfits.

Wheelin’ & Dealin’ - This is what we expect Trump to be able to do. Yes the GOP has majorities in Congress but we will need to get some Democrats to cross over. We might not get all we want, and the Dems will not get all they want.

They’re going to scream that anyway with or without a proposal of their own in hand.

Wasn’t Joe Biden tasked with tracking the performance of the first stimulus? Trump should ask for the full report.

I wish they would spend some money and actually build the I-69 between Houston and Texarkana instead of just leaving the signs up.

We can cut the funding requirements by half if we drop the Mexifornia projects of high speed train to nowhere and another peripheral canal waterway to suck the water down from NorCal to SoCal. Since Mexifornia is a sanctuary state, no need to waste federal money there.

Didn’t they already do this in 2009? They were so successful that they should be allowed to do it again? I don’t think so.
