Tom Brady doesn’t understand why his friendship with Donald Trump is a ‘big deal’

Tom Brady has had to answer numerous questions about his friendship with President Donald Trump, whom the New England Patriots quarterback has been friends with for a number of years. And that didn’t change a day after Brady led the Patriots to Super Bowl LI.

On Monday, Brady discussed his bond with the newly-elected president on his weekly interview with WEEI’s “Kirk and Callahan” show, somewhat understating his relationship with Trump.

“I have called him, yes, in the past. Sometimes he calls me. Sometimes I call,” Brady said, via the show’s website. “But, again, that’s been someone I’ve known. I always try to keep it in context because for 16 years you know someone before maybe he was in the position that he was in.

“He’s been very supportive of me for a long time. It’s just a friendship. I have a lot of friends. I call a lot of people.”

As Brady continued to elaborate, he wondered why their friendship has drawn so much attention.

“Why does everybody make such a big deal?” he added. “I don’t understand it.”

Brady likely will be asked more questions about the friendship as the Super Bowl approaches.

The NFL has become too political. You have to only be friends with liberals to be accepted. Go Pats.

His one saving grace (Brady’s) is that he supports Trump, as does Belichik.

That said, Brady is still a pussy.

There will and should be a large asterisk after every one of the records set by Brady of the Pats.

You had me until that line. He earned every record he has. The man is pure money in the pocket.

It is a big deal in that you are lucky to know the President. It isn’t a big deal, and shouldn’t be, to any of the hater snoop noses.

Just win, and it will explode the heads of all your haters.

And they'll blame it on the Russians hacking into Atlanta's playbook.........

BTW, I’m not butt sore at all. My team is the NYG and they along with Eli Manning beat Brady in BOTH meetings in the most pressure filled game imaginable, the Super Bowl.

Until the past year or so the NFL East was THE toughest Division in the NFL.

“You had me until that line. He earned every record he has. The man is pure money in the pocket.”

The Pats have one of if not THE best offensive lines in the NFL. The team is well coached. This is all to the credit of Belichik, even if he does bend the rules. However when a QB, any NFL QB can sit in the pocket for 5-7 seconds there is almost no chance he won’t find an open receiver.

When the NYG beat the pats twice they used the same defensive game plan and that was to keep unending pressure on Brady. It worked both times and you can see the frustration of Brady if you watch the games. Brady does not handle pressure well and develops what are called “happy feet” when he feels pressure.

In my opinion the best QB in the game today and in the past many, many, years is Aaron Rodgers. He can do it all and has. He can run and he can manage to dip, juke and move around in the pocket (despite being surrounded by defensive players) in a way I find really amazing. He often manages to stay free in the pocket for what seems like enough time to eat a sandwich and eventually finds an open receiver.

I wonder if he really doesn’t get it.

The rabid media of course want to hound and pummel anyone who doesn’t totally denounce Trump into submission. The more famous the person, both the more important that they submit and the bigger the cudgel they have in trying to destroy their positive celebrity if they don’t.

Brady is having one of his best years ever and going to the Super Bowl at 39. I don’t think he should give up working the refs, sustaining concussions, broken ribs, torn up knees and a shortened career, all so you won’t call him a pussy.

Your opinion, but he still does not act like a man on the field, you know like Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, etc. I saw just last week Rodgers creamed TWICE by late hits and not only didn’t he complain, he got up and went straight to the huddle. No penalty was even called.

If Rodgers and Manning are friends they can get together and watch Brady on TV.
