Bush’s presidency was totally undermined by his own political blunders.

Compounded by his reticence to advocate for his own damn policies. I should have known better, Poppy was the same way, that's how he lost to Clinton.

And that's how Jeb lost so badly to Trump. Bushes simply think they're above the fray, so they hire operatives to speak for them. Appalling lack of leadership IMO.

I think Trump did the right thing by fighting back hard on the crowd size isue. Even Mike Wallace said Spicer was just factually wrong about the crowd size. It turns out that it was faked. Chris Wallce did not know?

To me the bigger thing is the time reporter that said Trump moved MLK’s bust from the oval office. Then he said it was a mistake. It was no mistake. If a secret service agent was standing in front of it he could ask someone if it had been moved. This was an insidious attempt to make Trum look like a racist and fan the flames of racial hatred in this country.

That’s the part you never got. It’s NOT “inconsequential, meaningless sh!t.”

The whole idea behind “Broken Windows” and other such doctrines is if you mind the pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves.

Fight them on the cheap stuff and they’ll never get to the expensive stuff.

I am glad he brought the crowd size up. The liars formulated an untruth that we the people were suppposed to accept as correct because they said so. The more the meia is efuted, the more they are damaged. Some people learn with a slap. Others need a real good knock down. Go Trump!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are barking up the wrong tree.

No one in the Trump administration's listening to them And their beloved democrats & 'neverTrumpers' are powerless. The breathless advice given to Trump's been wrong since Day One - from the hysterical 'Trump MUST be more like Jeb' - - up to the latest idiocy with the two pushing for Trump to ‘pivot’ toward elites - - and learn the ‘grand skill of being a two-faced’ fake (with airs of superiority - - which they seem to equate with 'gravitas).

I'm amazed Joe and Mika haven't encouraged Trump to take on the quasi-British accent they and so many of their 'guests' affect. What's next - advice to Trump on how to push his chin up in an imitation of a brain-dead but pompous liberal? Give it up Joe and Mike - save your advice for democrats - the folks who have lost a thousand elections in the last eight years. Your advice is wasted on the team that's winning.

You have to choose your battles, and in this case, I don’t think Trump chose wisely.

Yeah, guess he should wait till they're calling for his impeachment for malfeasance before he strikes back at them, huh?

Go back and look at Post #34, then tell me about "Broken Windows."

What Trump has done in this case is lash out at the media for breaking the front window of his store ... while ignoring the fact that they also abducted his family out the back door.

Trump's exorcism of Washington D.C. continues.

Absolutely. The inaugural speech was the first broadside at the Congress and the MSM.

Why wait?! While you've got the momentum, strike! 30 million Americans listened to him and Congressmen know that. Trump was not about to waste that opportunity to communicate what he wants people to think and do. GREAT!

You've got to laugh. The whole nation and world is talking about Trump: the first day in office, he's already the leading political figure in the world.

Ah, but as the MSM told us, "He's unqualified" LOL.

Agree with you.
It is precisely this call for “moderation” and “inclusiveness”, as if we want to “unite the country that is the trap set by the media and elites.
This country was NOT designed to be one big happy family agreeing on a common goal. Of course, who defines the goal?
The Republic was designed to be a place where contending factions could coexist in peace. And that means debate and sometimes confrontation-albeit with words, rather than arms.
Liberals are experts at provoking with soothing words, or saying outrageous things and expecting everybody to receive them calmly.
I agree with Trumps decision to contest EVERYTHING. I voted for Trump because he is the first Republican who acknowledges this is a cultural war. And we want to win battle by battle.

Did President Trump make a mistake by getting into a spat over crowd size, and by his speech at CIA?

Short answer:

No. 😀

IMO it was the best choice of battlefield. Trump set the tone from the vry start of his campaign. He was elected because he was NOT Politically Correct,. He was elected because he was strong and would not be pushed around. He was elected because he was saying what Americans were thinking and He is now in the White Hose because WE, the People, put him there. He is NOT going to change. He is NOT going to become a pacifist. He is NOT going to be pushed around. He is direct and outspoken and doesn’t suffer fools. GET USED TO IT! He is a winner!

Yep. Trump has shown remarkably bad judgment all along. His poll numbers are bound to crater and Cruz is going to win.

No, he lashed out at the "official narrative," as it was forming. He left the lower tier "gossipy" stuff for US to take care of.

What is it with your type? First you say someone shouldn't have done what they did, and when that doesn't get any traction, you insist they should have done what they did even harder.....

“...Sean Spicer had been a little bit less angry...”

Maybe.

But-It’s been DECADES now that Republicans/Conservatives have permitted the MSM to run amok.

Spicer could only make this statement ONCE... and it was BEST to be clear and say it up front.

No can say they were not told!

Now ... everyone is aware how it will be! I don't have a problem with what he said or the tone.

It was long overdue and when you're talking to spoiled children, you need to be real clear. :)

My thought: a presidency that can be goaded by the MSM into eating its own so quickly will make itself vulnerable to being pushed around. The French Revolution became a disaster when it start devouring its own children.

The results of the November election mean that 50% of the country doesn't believe a SINGLE WORD that comes out of the #FakeStreamMedia.

I hang out on Twitter a lot these days. There are two completely different massive rivers flowing side-by-side there.

The Deplorables who voted for Trump don't give one Mitt what #FakeNews says.

What I really love is that the Twitter moderators completely protect the Media celebrities from criticism, creating an echo chamber opinion bubble for them.

The Twitter mods also don't censor the vile Lefty trolls - but they have software that impedes the posting of the Right & anti-Media types.

This is partly why the election results were such a shock.

Instead of recognizing this problem, Twitter is doubling down on it.

I've seen very few truly effective Lefty posting warriors on Twitter - the ones who have the quality of the Free Republic old guard.

BTW - a number of the FR old guard post on Twitter, including myself. Quite a few recognizable names from the 1997 & 1998 crowds.
