Scores of demonstrators charged with rioting in the District on Friday were well organized, ready to confront police and prepared to violently disrupt the inauguration, according to some of the protesters and organizers.

Details of the disturbances in a four-square-block area downtown that led to more than 230 arrests began emerging after protesters made their first court appearances Saturday, a process that continued through the evening as defendants were brought into D.C. Superior Court in batches of 10. Most faced a felony charge of rioting, which carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence.

The preparation undertaken by protesters included arriving armed with hammers and crowbars, police said in court filings that also said officers moved in to make arrests after windows were broken on storefronts and a city emergency vehicle, and a parked limousine was set on fire shortly before President Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.

Before protesters took to the streets, leaders of an umbrella organization for the demonstration operated a detailed website, designated a media spokesman, had “street” medics to tend to injured demonstrators and said in news releases that the group included protesters who were willing to be arrested.

The group protesting in the District was accompanied by a volunteer lawyer from Colorado who was among those arrested, court records show....

Newt Gingrich ob Fox News Sunday was calling the rioters
‘liberal fascists.”

Now we are starting to use the proper name for them.

Barrack Obama: The Quintessential Liberal Fascist

I wish the DC damaged /destroyed property owners had been Korean Americans. They would have pounded the pish out of these rioters. We need to make the cost immediately high for them doing these things.

Yes, it should be eligible for a RICO investigation. The fact that all of the rioters were charged with Federal felonies is a good start.

They not protesters.
They not even rioters.
They are the paid mercenaries of the Left.

Then perhaps they’ll be ‘a well-organized group’ in the exercise yard for the next ten years!

Why can’t they just follow the money and place felony charges against the financial supporters?

I'm sure there's a disconnect (or two) in the line somewhere.

Nothing to scoff at here. This guy has great potential down the road as a ‘Rat politician or future Secretary of State.

This is the direction of the ‘Rat party.

All the more reason for him to explore a career as a ‘Rat politician.

As a regular Joe, his future is bleak - jail and disbarment. As a ‘Rat pol, the sky is the limit.

If only Canky was disbarred for her “contributions” during Watergate or Cattle Futuresgate.

I wonder if the SPLC will tag the group as a terrorist or hate group.

Highly unlikely that this terrorist hate organization will tag its allies as terrorist or hate groups.

We have a word for so-called “protestors” who destroy property, Washington Post - that word is “rioters”.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We also have another word for them: CRIMINALS!

shouldn’t they be charged and tried for conspiracy to riot?

Arrested? How ‘bout KILLED.

Fire hoses, followed by high voltage electricity then the blasts of non-lethals. The count SHOULD have been *MUCH* higher and if some were wounded\killed....Oops.

I agree.

My question, why did they release them on low or no bail.

Throw the book at them and get them to unravel the bigger picture.

Will they, or did they, release the names and pictures of all those arrested... ???

These people need to be sentenced based upon the number of times they showed up and participated in other trouble spots such as Charlotte NC.

I'm with you.

We know right from wrong and how our system is supposed to function.

We also know what kind of evil people have sunk their tentacles in the government bureaucracies.

I don’t hang out with leftists, so I don’t have much personal contact.

However, in grad school 35 years ago, I rented a room off campus from a guy that was deeply involved with the 1960s-70s New Left. A parade of strange characters came through the house, mostly looking like a cross between hippies and marxists.

I think he was actually operating a safe house for some of them on the run from the law.

Later, I dated a former girlfriend of his. She told me that he lied when he said he inherited money. She said he had a machine to counterfeit airline tickets which he sold. He was using his lefty contacts to sell the tickets for him. He also ran pump&dump stock scams.

Needless to say, he was a lawyer.

Strange characters indeed!
