Protesters who destroyed property on Inauguration Day were part of well-organized group

Scores of demonstrators charged with rioting in the District on Friday were well organized, ready to confront police and prepared to violently disrupt the inauguration, according to some of the protesters and organizers.

Details of the disturbances in a four-square-block area downtown that led to more than 230 arrests began emerging after protesters made their first court appearances Saturday, a process that continued through the evening as defendants were brought into D.C. Superior Court in batches of 10. Most faced a felony charge of rioting, which carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence.

The preparation undertaken by protesters included arriving armed with hammers and crowbars, police said in court filings that also said officers moved in to make arrests after windows were broken on storefronts and a city emergency vehicle, and a parked limousine was set on fire shortly before President Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.

Before protesters took to the streets, leaders of an umbrella organization for the demonstration operated a detailed website, designated a media spokesman, had “street” medics to tend to injured demonstrators and said in news releases that the group included protesters who were willing to be arrested.

The group protesting in the District was accompanied by a volunteer lawyer from Colorado who was among those arrested, court records show....

Isn't this a RICO crime if the group was part of a well organized effort? ( Just wondering)

The Compost buys a clue.

Surprisingly, the readers —as exemplified by their WaPo Comments to the article— have bought a clue too. Probably at least 80/20 against the violent protesters.

Domestic terrorists, insurrectionists, seditionists, and the fifth-column leftist media.

They are all guilty.

These were the people who trashed Seattle to protest the WTO, now trashing Washington, DC to protest a President who is against the WTO.

The prosecutors ought to hit them with conspiracy charges on top of everything else they qualify for.... and RICO prosecutions for the organizers and associated organizations!

I don't have a very high level of confidence that the Washington DC politicians and bureaucrats or the federal Justice Department would really want to pursue the chain of responsibility and nail the high level people behind these anarchist movements.

In fact, I believe they would be more likely to help cover up any high level involvement. They aren't exactly Trump supporters.

Washington DC is as democrat and far left as can be and the Justice department is still chock full of crooked Obama appointees and hirelings.

In 2016 Washington DC voted 92.8% for Clinton. That's even more than Obama got in 2012 (91%).

As for the US Justice Department - we all know how biased and corrupt that has become under Obama, Holder and Lynch.

Premeditation, for sure. I’d call it terrorism myself.

Gone are the days where these anarchists are ignored. Sessions will follow through on naming names and making connections. It will be made known who funded and offered other means of support (email lists, etc.) to these clowns.

If there are direct links to the DNC or high visibility Democrat supporting groups, we’re going to find out and those groups are going to be investigated.

Peaceful protests are perfectly fine, but when they interrupt commerce or result in the destruction of property, all bets are off. The gauntlet needs to be thrown down before this stuff gets out of hand and innocent people are irreparably harmed.

yep

Premeditation and organization are different from spontaneous over reaction. Then there are the string pullers, the instigators behind the curtain. They are equally guilty.

...and they are accused of a federal felony. Why can’t they just follow the money and place felony charges against the financial supporters? Seems like an EASY way to jail Soros. (Thank you ComPost).

Many thanks for y’all’s research on this!

I agree, throw the book at en and then squeeze em for info.

Rinse, lather, repeat, get em to sing like Canaries till the ringleaders at the top are also caught.

Then charge em all with felonies- RICO, sedition, etc, and hopefully convict every last one of em.

& incarcerate for a loooooong time.

No more tiptoe-ing around; there’s a new sheriff in town.

Love that those arrested will be charged with FELONIES. Even better when they are convicted and sent to prison. Results, real results, will end these types of violent protests rather quickly.

It's the burgeoning anti-Fascist, or "Antifa" movement. Another Soros-funded bunch of misfits, they dress in black with balaclavas and ski-masks and express their displeasure with Fascism through gathering in mobs for acts of vandalism, physical assault, terroristic threats and even home invasion of those who disagree with them, because what could possibly be less Fascist than that </sarcasm>
