Donald J. Trump today became the nation’s 45th president. The following statement was issued on behalf of NEA President Lily Eskelsen García:
“Educators believe America is a country where all students have the right to a public education that helps them reach their full potential. Americans expect Donald Trump to govern for all Americans — not just the wealthy billionaires or those who agree with him. But the past serves as prologue for the future, and hateful rhetoric has defined Trump since he launched his bid for the White House.
“No matter who is in the White House, nothing will deter us from our mission of ensuring that all students, regardless of ZIP code, have the opportunity for a great public school education. We know the Trump-DeVos agenda is wrong for our students, and the 3 million members of the National Education Association will continue to fight and push for investing in strategies that we know lead to student success.”
NEA is supporting the UNION, not the kids.

“hateful rhetoric” including the expectation that the educational machine actually delivers some education instead of just taking more and more taxpayer money with fewer and fewer positive results.

As Albert Shanker, former union boss said, “When the children start paying dues, we’ll represent the interest of the children also.”
Many individual teachers support the kids.
The NEA? They don’t care about the kids. At all. They care about the revolution, and killing children is one of the primary values of their revolution.
Fight for students whats, their behinds?
It’s amazing that the MSM allow them to repeat this tripe. The teachers’ unions are money-grubbing/political/sjw organizations. They know nothing and care nothing about education.
NEA is supporting the UNION, not the kids and the elites in schools from asst. principals, to principals, superintendents and their highly paid secretaries/assistants.
My wife was a first second teacher
Her kids could read write and do math
She made it fun..She did more math with a watermelon than any book..and then you got to eat it
But is was Air Academy Schools in Colorado Springs...
Most kids came to learn not Chicago
She quit because they wanted you to teach ass backwards
This is the head of the NEA? What an ignoramus. It's all the presidents since Reagan who've governed for the rich and those who agreed with their real, mostly unspoken agenda of globalism. It's Trump who promised to govern to the benefit of all Americans and he's off to a great start.

The NEA is like most unions. They are there for the union leadership power and not really for the members. The kids would be much better off without teacher membership in the union. Education should go back to the states.
