When you hear these women proclaiming that it is their body and they can do what they want, I strongly disagree. In the first place, when their babies are conceived, the new tissue contains two strands of DNA. It is a new creation, not solely from themselves, but from both father and mother. Unless it was tissue created by themselves (via cloning), or a cancerous tumor, they claim ownership by possesion only, and in fact, could be disputed legally (and has been.) As a matter of faith, that soul was a gift from God and will return to him. I believe that women have a right of self destruction if they so chose, but they do not have the right destroy a new life that was created with part of both father and mother, with the inability of the new life to chose.
Very, very well said.
I wonder how many prospective fathers long for their missing children. They have a choice, too. But their wishes apparently don’t count.
