The Chinese put China first. The Russians put Russia first. Israelis believe in Israel first.
So, whats wrong with Americans seeking to put our country before a faceless, vacuous globalism that has eaten away at our manufacturing base, taken the lives of our best and brightest overseas, and threatened our standard of living for decades?
According to neoconservatives like Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, apparently a lot.
Kristol let out a tweetstorm before and during Donald Trumps America First themed inauguration speech Friday, highlighted by this gem:
"I'll be unembarrassedly old-fashioned here: It is profoundly depressing and vulgar to hear an American president proclaim "America First.""
Depressing and vulgar Wow! In a prime example a true globalists gloves coming off, Kristol and his neoconservative ilk cant help but expose themselves for the anti-American hucksters they are.
In a classic example of the strawman fallacy, they like to link the movement to put our people first, just as every other nation does, to the often pro-Nazi America First movement that existed prior to World War II. But Trump is having none of it.

Kristol is old news not worthy of space here.
Kind of like Mike McCarthy declaring “Green Bay Packers first” - horrifying....
My understanding is that “America first” began shortly after WWI, largely in reaction to the war. Americans were fed up with the globalist Wilson and elected a president who offered to take care of business at home, to restore “normalcy.”
ALL of the ABOVE!!!
...little Billy is still upset. Now go to the corner and stay there till you find your testicles
The more one looks into "neo-conservatism" the stranger it looks.
This started from a small thread of Jewish intellectuals that moved away from Trotskyism.
But they did not thereby embrace Judaism. They call themselves "conservatives" but they reject Judeo-Christianity, which has been the moral foundation of this country shared by Protestants, Catholics, Jews and other denominations ever since our Founding.
As far as I can tell, they seem to adhere to some sort of idiosyncratic synthesis of elements of classical Greek philosophy. But it's hard to tell, because they use what they call an "esoteric" way of writing about themselves because apparently they are under the impression that they would not be popular with Americans if they were more open about their belief system.
What they are not is pro-American. It's really remarkable how they have managed to hijack the term "conservativism" and have come to have such an influence in the media.
Same thing with Kristol.
Saying that Rat-Boy is a conservative doesn't make it so.
Garth Brooks is the guy most responsible for the wussification of country music.
On a side note, I’m glad FR is back up. Felt like a junky that couldn’t get his fix the last few days.
Reagan's biggest mistake....
It will take three of four more Trump Presidents to fix this country...
If not it all for nothing..like Reagan
At least we know the GOP is a waste of time and must change its ways or else
Weekly Standard...?
Oh, What a fool! Can he go the way as Will?
Bill Krisol is a sell out America Globalist Swine.
I didn’t think Kristol was much of a Cruz fan, was he? He backed that ridiculous Egg McMuffin.
Glad to be through with the prior thread. On here, you have a great point:
Globalists, Nationalists, and Marxists
In the past, Dems (of course) had the Marxists and Republicans had the Globalists. The two parties fought it out for the nationalists (called Working Class voters today) - at the time, close to 80% of the vote.
Now it’s different. The Dems still have the Marxists (which includes blacks, due to how they vote), but now also half of the Globalists, but instead of fighting for the nationalists, the Dems created a new group inside of the Marxists - called the Special Interests (gays, Hispanics, other immigrants, other losers, etc.). The Republicans kept their half of the Globalists and took whatever they could from the Nationalists, but didn’t lift a finger. Likewise the Democrats also didn’t lift a finger for the Nationalists. So the Nationalists (now more like 60% of the vote) split their votes.
So now it’s this (before Trump):
Democrats: Half of Globalists, all of the Marxists (including blacks and special interests), and half of the Nationalists...enough to win the White House.
Republicans: Half of the Globalists and half of the Nationalists - not enough
Trump comes along and actually TARGETS the Nationalists, and the math changes, as the Nationalists now lean towards Trump, at the expense of the Democrats - and if Trump does well, he LOCKS-IN the nationalists and we have a re-alignment that could last decades.
That has to scare the crap out of both parties. The Republican leadership, whether they’ve figured it out yet or not, is simply under NEW OWNERSHIP, while the Democrats have lost a HUGE CHUNK of their coalition to the Republicans, the Nationalists, with the Republicans in position to start chipping away at even some of their Marxist support.
This may well be the end for that bunch.
“Kristol would never define himself as Conservative.”
I don’t agree...they all want to CLAIM to be a conservative...even Jeb tried to do that. The question is credibility.
It’s profoundly depressing and vulgar that there are Americans like him in our country.
“It wasnt too long ago that many people on FR decried the phrase America First when used by Pat Buchanan as some sort of Hitlerian nightmare. Funny how a few decades of living under Bush/Obama globalism has clarified their thinking.”
Me included. But there are some big differences with Trump. Buchanan sounded way to close to the original America-Firster, Lindbergh - who seemed convinced that Hitler was a good guy and cost thousands, perhaps millions of lives by fighting our efforts to prepare for war. Buchanan’s hatred towards Israel, at least back then, was ugly and Hitlerian, at least to me.
Free trade, back then, meant breaking the stranglehold of unions in this country, something that desperately needed to be done...but it was a big price.
Things are different now - we are a shell of a country - much of China is first world, other trading partners are quickly heading that way - even India has an obesity problem. And we have millions that sit around and play video games all day, while Illegals and imports cover for them.
Not anymore.
You’re correct, but both of them really.
Kristol is listed by name on the Bilderberg chart ZeroHedge published, at approximately 1:00
