Majority of 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will face 10 years in prison and $25k fine

Most of the 230 rioters arrested after violent protests erupted in Washington D.C. following Donald Trump's inauguration will be charged with felony rioting, federal prosecutors said on Saturday.

The charge carries a punishment of up to ten years in jail and a $25,000 fine.

Thousand of protesters launched a violent rampage just blocks away from the White House as anti-Trump demonstrators smashed store windows, set fire to cars and threw bricks at police.

Many of those arrested are due to appear in court on Saturday, according to WUSA 9.

Heated clashes broke out in McPherson Square and along K Street as hundreds of riot police fired tear gas and drew their nightsticks to contain the masked mob.

As the rioting unfolded, Trump and his family were arriving at a review stand at the White House to see the end of the inaugural parade.

Militant anti-Trump protesters gave a foretaste of what could follow during the violent outbreaks, which has so far seen 217 people arrested and at least six police officers injured.

Agree. If it’s a slap on the wrist they will wear it like a badge of honor.
If the new administration wants to stop this violent nonsense, if they are serious about law and order, these criminals deserve jail and restitution orders along with fines.

Threaten them with serious jail time and have them finger the people that hired them and prosecute them as well. Either way these punks need time in jail.

I hope this sticks. It already feels like a great burden has been lifted from our shoulders with the effeminate Fuhrer gone. Knowing these criminals face serious jail time feels so just and right.

Fools should be led around in chain gangs to pick up litter and scrub every inch of graffiti in DC. With a toothbrush.

Every spot missed adds a week to the sentence

But most, if not all, of them will get a slap on the wrist and get sent home. That's why we continue to see left-wing riots.

People should know that these types of cases are always Plea bargained down To malicious mischief Or something Less. Prison time is highly unlikely.

Don’t get me wrong, I think they should get long prison sentences but the way the justice system is these days, they just won’t.

And I believe they were paid quite well if it’s true what I’ve heard. Another reason to throw the book at them.

They are paid protestors....

We need PROOF from an irrefutable source. I'd hope that with over 200 in custody, and the seriousness of attempting to thwart the peaceful transfer of power, some proof that these are paid Anarchists will be forthcoming.

When that happens, guys will begin telling their clueless wives and daughters to stay away from the protests.

Put them in prison for ten years?

Then they will STILL be sucking at the Taxpayer Teat.

Good luck at getting the $25K fine out of them. If they had $25K in assets they wouldn’t have been there in the first place.

I say exile them.

This is great news. They no longer have a “space to destroy.”

Throw a few of these punks in jail and these riots will stop.
