Dem blockade frustrating Trump team; 'beachhead' units ready to go

Republicans, both in the incoming Trump administration and on Capitol Hill, are growing increasingly angry with Senate Democrats' efforts to slow the confirmation of Trump nominees. GOP lawmakers and staff often point out that the Senate confirmed seven Obama nominees — secretaries of agriculture, education, energy, homeland security, interior, veterans affairs and a budget director — on Inauguration Day 2009. Now, Democrats are saying they might — might — allow the confirmation of two Trump nominees on Friday.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is accusing Republicans of trying "to jam through Cabinet nominees in a way that hides their views from the American people." Schumer wants more extensive — read longer — committee hearings for Trump nominees, and without them, he said, "then [Republicans] should be prepared for that debate on the floor — extensive debate."

On Thursday, Schumer said Democrats might allow Inauguration Day votes on Secretary of Defense-designate James Mattis and Secretary of Homeland Security-designate John Kelly. So where Obama had seven, Trump will have two.

Time for the GOP to grow a pair of balls and ram these nominees through. We don’t have time for this crap.

I’m confused. Why do we need their permission? Just schedule the vote Mitch.

Schedule...the...vote...Mitch?

Mitch? As in McConnell?

I am so sick of the Washington Generals-style GOPe wimping out and not even looking like they are putting up a good fight. They don’t need to listen to Chucky on this stuff and should already have Trump’s cabinet approved.

Aren’t such recesses now seen as too short for appointments?

McConnell could end this charade if he wanted to: just schedule a vote for each candidate, call for the question, vote, and then do the next on. End of story.

You are right! I had forgotten that part of the SC decision, requiring 10 days of recess. I just knew that they slapped down the appointments because the Senate was not in recess.

I guess my little scheme might not work after all.

“GOP lawmakers and staff often point out that the Senate confirmed seven Obama nominees — secretaries of agriculture, education, energy, homeland security, interior, veterans affairs and a budget director — on Inauguration Day 2009.”

And some here would say we should meet these jacka$$e$ half way. All this teaches us, or should teach us, is that we have cowardly GOPe in Congress, and bullying jagoffs for Rats. Ram every nominee and piece of legislation down their throats. And let’s keep moving forward!!

These idiots always forget that in the future they may face the same treatment. Probably more.

Just ask Hairy Reed how that works.

Shmukky Choomer better watch hisself. I think the days of the ba!! less pubbie are gone.

And Choomer is either too stupid or too ignorant to know it.

He hasn’t caught up with the new reality that P-Wipped Ryan is NOT the shot caller anymore

OTH, I would LOVE to see it when that little reality zaps that pea brain of his.

It will be fun.
