CNN has tapped the daughter of senior adviser to President Obama to cover the Trump Justice Department despite having little experience in journalism, according to a press release from the network.
The New York Post reports that Laura Jarrett, daughter of Valerie Jarrett, was "quietly hired" by CNN in September to work as a reporter in Washington. No formal announcement by the network from that time can be found announcing the hire.
According to her CNN bio page, the Harvard-educated Laura Jarrett has "worked as a litigation attorney in Chicago. In private practice, Jarrett focused on defending companies and individuals in government investigations brought by the Justice Department and Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as complex commercial litigation."

While this woman’s mother was ‘special advisor to the pResident’, with Secret Service protection, etc., the daughter was defending companies and individuals involved in investigations by the DOJ and the SEC??? Isn’t that a severe conflict of interest?? I wonder what the likely negotiated buy-off was?? Is there any paper trail of her results for her clients?
Just goes to show that you don’t need to know anything about journalism to work for a News Network, just need to be a leftist who is related to other prominent leftists.
Give it a few months after the inauguration. A lot of people in the journalism field will be looking for a job.

Yeah. This is getting into drama queen territory, if it wasn’t already doing so.
I think it’s time for reasonable people, even righties, to just chill out a bit. If we want to know what this kind of moral story looks like, just read the bible. Righteousness doesn’t always win in visible humanity, in fact to see it win is historically more rare than the other way around. But those seasons in which it does win are a most heartening sight.
