Barnicle Gossips: On Foreign Policy, 'Nikki Haley Makes Sarah Palin Sound Like Henry Kissinger'
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/19/2017 8:34:19 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Mike Barnicle might not bring much to the table, but he is still capable of passing along nasty remarks from unnamed sources. On today's Morning Joe, discussing Nikki Haley's preparations for her confirmation hearing as UN Ambassador, Barnicle said, "I was told by somebody within the world of diplomacy and international relations that Nikki Haley makes Sarah Palin sound like Henry Kissinger."

Joe Scarborough seemed to have intentionally teed Barnicle up to take his anonymous shot at Haley, asking him "what are you hearing about her?" After Barnicle's gossip, Scarborough weighed in, saying that he'd been hearing for weeks "real concerns with the people that had been prepping her over her complete ignorance of foreign policy."

Sounds like Barnicle needs to be set up for a date with that “hot chick”, Lucille...

I am from Massachusetts. I don’t understand how John Kerry or Liz Warren got out of their “home.”

But, we are happy they are not around here anymore.

This probably means Trump does not really give a damn about the UN

My first thought too. She is there to delegitimize the UN.

Good. This probably means Trump does not really give a damn about the UN

Good. That's a positive way of looking at it.

My thinking exactly. To make the point of how little he thinks of that dysfunctional money pit, Trump should have appointed Megan McCain.

I see it as she is only a power conduit; Trump power.

She will not be given much initiative.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day

Indeed. No matter what the source, there's no denying that Nikki Haley is a lightweight. She's a female, Indian version of Marco Rubio - donning the Tea Party mantle to win, then governing like a typical establishment Republican. Both she and Rubio are essentially immature, lower IQ versions of John McCain and Lindsey Graham, so it came as no surprise when she sided with the PC left on the Confederate Flag. Nor am I surprised that she sounds like Hillary when talking about Syria.

I wasn't thrilled when Trump picked her, but I'm consoled by the fact that she can cause less harm in what's basically a symbolic post than as Governor of SC.

"...She does not seem like a foreign policy powerhouse. Or a powerhouse at all for that matter."

This just displays quite eloquently Trump's justifiable disdain for the UN, and she's the perfect pick to show the world that he isn't interested in the least in what the UN does or says.

IMHO

“It gets her out of SC too, and moves a Trumpian Lieutenant Governor to the Governor’s mansion, which might be helpful if, just sayin’, sumthin’ should happen to either of SC’s US Senators.”

Yes, and we can only hope that Linda Graham needs an early replacement. Now, all Trump needs to do is pull out of the UN and Haley is out of politics. Good move Donald!

“I was told by somebody within the world of diplomacy and international relations that Nikki Haley makes Sarah Palin sound like Henry Kissinger.”

As this is Barnicle speaking, it is just as likely he made up this source out of thin air. He’s an admitted fabricator who had to resign from the Boston Globe over a made-up story.

Mike Barnicle was fired from his longtime job as columnist for the Boston Globe when it was uncovered that he had committed an unbelievable amount of plagiarism of the works of other authors—

plagiarism that was spread out consistently over a period of DECADES.

Barnicle is a disgrace.

WHY would anyone quote this slimebag now?

Plagiarizer Barnicle is not qualified to edit the Weekly Reader. If not a hard leftist, he would have no TV face time.

I wish Trump would hire one of Barnum and Bailey’s Circus clowns to send to the UN.

He did. Didn't you see the GOP response to Obama's State of the Union address?

Mike Barnicle, Fraud and Plagiarist, Helps Guide America Through Baseball’s Era of Shame

By Tom Scocca
http://www.slate.com/blogs/scocca/2010/09/30/mike_barnicle_fraud_and_plagiarist_helps_guide_america_through_baseball_s_era_of_shame.html

Speaking of baseball and its scandals, the other big question I keep hearing from people who did watch Ken Burns’ “Tenth Inning” is: why did Burns give so much screen time to the cheaters? Not the baseball players—the baseball experts.

Was it some sort of subtextual commentary on the era of steroid cheats that Burns turned to Mike Barnicle to talk about the Red Sox? While we’re having history lessons: long ago, back when Roger Clemens was still pitching for Boston, Mike Barnicle was a columnist for the Boston Globe. Does anyone know why he is not a columnist for the Boston Globe anymore?

I wish that were just a rhetorical question. But since Mike Barnicle keeps showing up on people’s televisions and talking about stuff , apparently it isn’t. Mike Barnicle had to stop being a columnist for the Boston Globe because he got caught plagiarizing and fabricating, over and over again . And because he lied about it.

Mike Barnicle is a fraud and a liar . He didn’t even have the excuse of being in over his head and strung out on drugs, like Jayson Blair. He had a nice, easy columnist spot. He fabricated and plagiarized because he was lazy and dishonest , and because he had contempt for his $200,000-a-year job and his readers.

Inviting Mike Barnicle to talk about what the Red Sox mean to Boston is like inviting Janet Cooke to discuss the problem of drug abuse among young people. He wasn’t even a sportswriter, unless you count the time he ripped off a joke from George Carlin about the pope giving baseball scores.

Barnicle’s speedy crawl out of his journalistic grave has been one of the great ongoing mysteries of the business. He stole and he made stuff up, and he writes for Time magazine . Time magazine doesn’t care if a person steals or makes stuff up. He’s all over MSNBC. MSNBC doesn’t care. Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews don’t care about hanging out with a liar and a fraud and letting him talk to their viewers.

Joan Walsh, over at Salon, offered a theory about why Burns gave Barnicle the chance to talk:

Barnicle’s professional troubles are never mentioned, but more remarkably, to my knowledge no media report has made the connection between Barnicle’s star turn and the role of his wife, Anne Finucane, the Bank of America chief marketing officer credited with the B of A’s sponsorship of “Tenth Inning.” Finucane’s role is no secret; she’s been quoted about the bank’s Burns partnership and photographed at gala events with the filmmaker. But it’s undisclosed within the project, and given Barnicle’s (to me questionable) centrality to “Tenth Inning,” something there feels off.
That wouldn’t explain why Burns also dredged up

Harvard historian and plagiarist Doris Kearns Goodwin
to share her own thoughts about the Sox. Walsh was too busy celebrating Goodwin as one of the only two women to appear in the new segment to bring up the fact that, like Barnicle, Goodwin completely violated the standards of her profession and more or less got away with it.

Plargarist and blowhard. I am more irritated by his being a blowhard...liberals plagiarize all the time, I stopped even thinking about it and just assume they can’t ever have an original thought.

All you need to do is listen to a bunch of stinking liberals at some protest in 2017 yelling “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho..blah blah blah blah...gotta go!” to know the truth of this.

They can’t even think up a new protest chant between the Sixties and now.
