A New York lawyer appealed to President Obama Wednesday in an opinion piece to pardon former-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and others who may be potential targets of an investigation into the use of her private email server.
Robert Begleiter, a partner at Constantine Cannon LLP and former assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York, wrote in The Daily News that the Constitution permits a president to pardon someone who has not been charged with a crime.

Pardon her for what? The Obama administration and Democrats said there was nothing to see. All smoke no fire. Obama’s FBI director said so.
I know Ford pardoned Nixon, so this sort of thing has been done. That's a fact.
But is it also a fact that the Constitution specifically discusses this? I am unaware of the exact language in the document that grants this permission in the absence of a criminal charge.
Bbbbbut, she DinndoNuffin!
He MUST pardon her so that he is not found out to be all part of her scandals!
Legal weenies must be very worried about her vulnerability.
Mr. Obama, you pardon it, YOU LEGACY IT.
Think about it.
Do it, it will confirm that she is crooked and was unfit for office. It will cement her legacy. Please pardon her.
Pardoned for what?
Pardoning Clinton increases Obama’s exposure.
At that moment, they're done...all three of them.I know that the two sixties dope smokers are done even without the pardon...but I don't want to wake up ten years from now reading that that inbred piglet of theirs is running for the Senate in New York,or Massachusetts,or Connecticut.
if she or they, accepted a pardon, that would be an admission on their part, of having committed criminal offenses. My question is, if offered a pardon, would they accept it, or would they reject it, and stick to their story of not having done anything wrong?
It’s not in the Constitution. It’s from Common Law and Original Intent and specific SC cases such as Ex Parte Garland.
Leftists have falsely doubted the power as they would have liked to put Nixon in prison. Because they control the media, the popular (MSM) doubts persist, but the legal precedents are very well established.
He MUST pardon her so that he is not found out to be all part of her scandals!
A pardon would not end the investigation. In fact it would make it easier. Hillary could be brought before a grand jury and forced to testify under oath with real penalties for perjury.
If she was pardon, she could not claim 5th Amendment protection.
I doubt she wants or they will offer her a pardon.
I think they will rely on the the main stream media to provide protection for her and the her extended family.
I’m sure she’s made some Faustian bargains in the past, but I suspect she won’t be willing to forfeit future political viability. The Clinton way would be to accept pardon and run again in 2020 anyway, daring anyone to make a peep and knowing full well that the brain-dead zombie voters of the Democrat Party would play right along.
Actually this would be a good thing. In general, if a person accepts a pardon it is considered to be an admission of guilt.
The fallout would reflect poorly on both Clinton and Obama. Hopefully driving a stake through the heart of any further political ambitions.
She could potentially reject the pardon, but that would leave her open to prosecution. As much as I would love to see her do time for her crimes, I think it would divide the country irreparably.
He may have saved that one for the very last minute.
The President...shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.
ARTICLE II, SECTION 2, CLAUSE 1
I think you are correct.
I predict that Obama will sign Hillary’s Pardon only 1 or 2 hours before the swearing in of President Trump with the hope that it will get ignored with all that’s going on.
