George H.W. Bush was just admitted to intensive care unit with pneumonia and his wife, Barbara, was also admitted. H.W.'s office says he's in stable condition, but as a precaution doctors performed some sort of procedure to clear his airway. He received anesthesia and was moved into the intensive care unit. H.W.'s resting comfortably where he will remain, at least for the short term. Meanwhile, Barbara Bush was also admitted to the Houston hospital Wednesday morning after experiencing what H.W.'s office says is fatigue and coughing. Story developing ...
Compared to...
During his time a president didn’t have a lot to do. Then the Clinton’s came in the scene and everything went to hell.
Local TV Noon news in Houston is wall-to-wall about HW and Barbara and the flood, nary a word about Trump’s upcoming inauguration. Funny when they were talking about the flood, only one negative comment to the mayor about when he is going to deal with the problem, although I’m sure thousands of people are really tired of having their homes and cars flooded. Lots of businesses closed, people had Houston’s version of a “snow day” off.
Schools in surround areas to the north and west had delayed start or closed for the day but Houston Independent School District couldn’t get their act together. At least one school bus ended up being pulled out of flood waters. Pretty tight press lid of any negative criticism of HISD or the Mayor.
The God of these high church WASPs is not a vengeful God, but He does have a dark sense of humor.
Typical symptoms (in women) of a heart attack.
HW - I don’t like you and I’ve lost respect for you, but I’ll pray for you and your wife’s complete recovery.
Pard, we routinely have family who live into their 90s and 100s. Folks who’ve been thru illnesses that kill far younger, healthier, more mobile people. Who’ve entered ICU, sometimes for weeks, and have gone on to live wonderful lives for many years after.
Yeah, I almost didn't come to work this morning while watching the doom and gloom flood news. I live near 59 and W/ Bellfort and saw the submerged bus. But then, Bellfort ALWAYS floods. My drive into the Montrose area on 59 was uneventful and fairly quick due to so many people staying home. On the plus side, I got to watch extra trafic coverage from Jennifer on Channel 2.
I have no feelings one way or another about HW's (apparent) imminent passing. He's old and sick and is probably on his last legs. I don't consider him nearly as newsworthy as the Trump inauguration.
Also, not to be a Pollyanna, but ICU is also the place for an ill patient who might also require a high degree of privacy and/or security. Especially if there are beds to spare.
He orchestrated JFK being killed. This is FACT, not “hate”. I also find it mighty suspicious that he might be on his deathbed just in time to miss what might actually be a real attorney general. Mighty convenient for the ongoing cover-up effort.

Thanks for the info!
All y’all ,
Ping to George H. W. and Barbara Bush both in hospital.
Yup.
A good friends 84 yo father just went that way. Fell in garage, broke hip, from hospital to rehab to hospital to grave.
Worries me about my 85yo dad and his walker. We can’t leave him alone anymore.
Sounds like bronchoscopy to clear the lower airways and get a sample of whatever’s doen there. If he wasn’t intubated for it he’s probably not doing too bad.
I don’t like the Bushes or what they stand for, but GHWB is a Veteran and Former President of the United States of America, therefore, I hope they heal well and live a longer, happier life...
I’m not one bit surprised about the local coverage/Sylvester bum kissing.
Dems are NEVER to be held accountable!! (Bleh)
He won’t be going to the inauguration of President Trump. He did write the President Elect a letter though:

Multiple Houston hospitals have huge suites available, for worldwide VIPs.
No shortage of ‘rooms’ for Bar or HW.
.
“Houston” Maine???
