DONALD TRUMP JETS & CHOPPERS IN LIMBO
tmz ^ | 1/17 | tmz

Donald Trump has a problem on his hands ... what to do with 2 private jets and 3 helicopters. Our Trump sources say the fate of Trump's 757, Citation X and 3 choppers are in limbo. He can't sell them because if he does it will look like he's profiting off the presidency. Likewise, he can't charter them out because it will open the door to criticism that he's getting a POTUS premium. Trump, we're told, will not let the kids use the planes ... they fly commercial and if they choose private it's on their own dime. And putting the aircrafts in storage poses other problems. They need to be maintained, which is a complicated and expensive process ... requiring pilots and mechanics. POTUS problems.

That's a ridiculous assertion.

I think the real problem is the pilots....He’s very particular....in fact I believe the 757 has only had one pilot.

“Why would selling them imply he’s profiting off his presidency?”

Because the leftards will inevitably argue that the aircraft are worth less than whatever someone pays for them and that the difference is a bribe.

Think about the story of Ivanka flying commercial. I tend to believe this story.
It could be for a number of reasons..from installing standards to tax reasons.

It would be interesting to know if he lets them fly it for business use in the past if he wasn’t on board.

Lease them and donate all the proceeds to some charity.

Because he can only sell the planes because the taxpayers now provide him with one. One has to stretch logic a bit to figure out what the left is going to conjure up.

I suspect that he will reconsider letting his sons use them, as well as Ivanka. Things are different now - his sons and daughter (and grandkids) are more open to danger now when they fly commercial....just happened to Ivanka.

I am assuming that his sons will have company business that they can use the jets for?

This is just TMZ clickbait. Trump had the presser and his attorney already said everything has been taken care of. I HIGHLY doubt, contrary to the drama queen homosexuals at TMZ< that his aircraft were left out of it all.

I’m sorry, but why can’t he sell them? I mean, they want him to dissolve his assets. So, he can’t sell his assets now?

Paint them white and lease them out.

Through a third party. Blindly.

This is not that difficult.

Why would selling them imply he's profiting off his presidency?

Presumably collectors and/or other people would pay a "premium" for them because they have some value above & beyond that which other used planes and helicopters that are same make/model would be worth.

That's what (I think...) people mean when they say Trump would be profiting off the Presidency.

I think that's crap, but that's just me.

He should should announce that he is going to lease them out for Government use at zero profit. Saving taxpayers money.

"Because he can only sell the planes because the taxpayers now provide him with one. One has to stretch logic a bit to figure out what the left is going to conjure up."

But we also know that if he keeps the planes, the left will find a way to criticize that as well, e.g., "conflict of interest" or some such thing.

The 757-200 burns 900 gallons of fuel per hour, on average.
Currently, Jet A at ORD is $7.786
At DTW it's $7.622

The average commercial pilot makes $76,000.
The 757 requires 2

Then there is hangar rental...

I would think one of a kind planes are like houses or cars, you’ll never get back the money you put into them. You customize them to your tastes, but the people who have the money to buy them have different tastes, and will gut the house to build it to their taste.
