I don’t remember Trump saying....”Any objections?”

This particular cotillion of progressive snots is not deserving of a seat at the table.

So they don’t just “object”, they “object strenuously”. That should make all the difference. </sarcasm>

We object strenuously to any move that would shield the president and his advisers from the scrutiny of an on-site White House press corps. What exactly does this mean??? Do they scrutinize the president's bathroom breaks?

They actually are more concerned that the new facilities are large enough to include bloggers — their competitors

Not just bloggers, but press from Europe and South America, along with small-town journalists (Even Little Rock could score a seat in the front), along with bloggers.
It would totally dissolve the big seven or eight into a marginal press.

stren·u·ous·ly ˈstrenyo͞oəslē/ adverb adverb: strenuously in a way that requires great physical exertion. I find it doubtful you can object in such a manner! (s)

I think what Trump wants to do is move the daily press briefings to a new room at a building close to the White House. Since some of those buildings close by are connected to the White House by underground tunnels, so White House press office can have people walk from the White House to the new press briefing room nearby. The current press briefing room is woefully overcrowded in daily use, and I think even Hillary Clinton, had she become President, would have asked to move the daily press briefing room somewhere else—if only for fire safety reasons!

Only press executives should be allowed in the EOB. Not the working stiffs.

Harder to have inside knowledge if there offices are no longer in the Whitehouse.

The current press briefing room is woefully overcrowded in daily useFrom videos I've seen, I was actually shocked that they were stuffed into so small a space.
