WASHINGTON — Legendary journalist Bob Woodward on Sunday clashed with his former “Watergate” reporting partner over the intelligence briefing of President-elect Donald Trump on the salacious allegations contained in an unverified dossier of opposition research.
“I’ve lived in this world for 45 years where you get things and people make allegations,” Woodward told FOX News Sunday.
“That is a garbage document. It never should have been presented in–- as part of an intelligence briefing.”
Woodward also said that “Trump’s point of view” was being “under-reported,” noting that outgoing White House Counsel Neil Eggleston could have given the briefing to incoming Counsel Don McGahn.
“So Trump’s right to be upset about that,” Woodward said. “And I think if you look at the real chronology and the nature of the battle here, those intelligence chiefs who were the best we’ve had, who were terrific and have done great work made a mistake here. And when people make mistakes, they should apologize. . ."

He’s right - they knew by presenting it to Trump and giving it to the Gang of 8, it would be leaked. They did it on purpose to smear Trump.
They’ve smeared themselves in their desperation.
They are never going to live down their FAKE NEWS reputation.
So he can read a weather vane and tell where the wind is blowing.

...and keep in mind that Woodward is no friend of Republicans. But there are limits to how much self-destruction of his profession he’s willing to put up with.
Almost everyone has their last shred of decency somewhere. A few notable exceptions, of course.

The document, itself, with its bad labelling, misspellings, missing dates, lack of sourcing, etc., is as obvious a forgery as was the infamous "Burkett" document. Anyone who claims otherwise is as bad a liar as Dan Rather. I would easily put Bernstein in that category.
At Woodward’s age cocktail parties probably aren’t high on his to do list
That’s known as a CYA statement. Not really believed by the person making the statement but with full knowledge that you do not make an enemy of them because the consequences could be devastating. 8>) Bob Woodward was taking them to the woodshed while still praising them. 4Chan Claims To Have Fabricated Anti-Trump Report As A Hoax

In a story that is getting more surreal by the minute, a post on 4Chan now claims that the infamous “golden showers” scene in the unverified 35-page dossier, allegedly compiled by a British intelligence officer, was a hoax and fabricated by a member of the chatboard as “fanfiction”, then sent to Rick Wilson, who proceeded to send it to the CIA, which then put it in their official classified intelligence report on the election.
Here is 4Chan’s explanation of how the story came to light:
>/pol/acks mailed fanfiction to anti-trump pundit Rick Wilson about Trump making people piss on a bed obama slept in.
>He thought it was real and gave it to the CIA.
>The central intelligence agency of the united states of america put this in their official classified intelligence report on russian involvement in the election.
>Donald trump and Obama have both read this pol/acks fanfiction.
>The CIA has concluded that the russian plans to blackmail trump with this story we made up.
