Seems the reaction from the police was a little overboard. He seemed to be cooperating.

I know the Washington Post will enjoy this one. It’s more gas they can throw on the fire.

I wish the Washington Post were as eager to publish all the information about incidents like Brown and even Martin, so that the public could understand. That’s what their job is after all.

In this instance I think the officers over-reacted.

It would have been simple to talk to the guy for a minute and determine what was going on.

I do not recommend anyone get out of the car unless directed to do so. Keep your hands on the top of the steering wheel and comply with questioning and directives.

A few simple questions and answers could have resolve this situation in under five minutes.

Law abiding Blacks should be treated with respect. This guy is doing what Blacks should do, and I don’t like seeing him rousted like this.

If I did, I would think I deserved the same treatment. I don’t.

By the time they went up to his car, they should have known who owned the vehicle. Simply have him produce ID and let him go.

Not defending the police...but a common denominator in alot of these situations is the driver opens the door and gets out of the car...in my experience, the police much prefer you sit still.

If the police would stop providing the gas there would be nothing to throw on the fire. Where is the justification in any of this?
