Who ordered this? Isn’t D.C. under the control of Congress? Did Obama order this? Trump can’t issue orders until his left hand leaves the Bible.

Very strange.

Sounds like a preemptive strike by Mattis. Something made his radar go off. Only someone like him would have the confidence to do this.

Just my opinion.

Trump certainly could have ordered this by sending him a statement saying that once he is sworn in, that as of 12:01 P.M. on 1/20/17 you are hereby relieved of your command. Of course Trump could actually relieve anyone of command before 12:01, so this is just a heads-up letter saying it will happen once he’s sworn in.

Who ordered this? Isn’t D.C. under the control of Congress?

He serves at the pleasure of the president. Trump couldn't have ordered his resignation. Remember what the rats keep telling us...only one president at a time. So my question is why does obama want the DC National Guard without a commanding general during the inauguration?

Who ordered this?

From the article:

"Unlike in states, where the governor appoints the National Guard commander, in the District that duty falls to the president."

So, there you have it. And 'strange' doesn't exactly describe it.

Hasn’t he told ambassadors to be out by 1/20?

Isn’t D.C. under the control of Congress? Did Obama order this? .

According to the article the commander of the D.C. National Guard is a presidential appointee. All of Obama appointees have been told by the incoming administration that they are out of office at noon on the 20th.

Trump can’t issue orders until his left hand leaves the Bible.

Trump is president at the stroke of noon on January 20th, regardless of whether he's completed the oath or not.

First, who could order it?

It goes from the Secretary of the (Service) to the Secretary of Defense to the President, however, in a unique arrangement, the DC National Guard is commanded directly by the President as is emphasized in the following by the words “at all times”. Note also no chain of command to any higher military units for any of the services.

***From Wiki: “The President of the United States is the Commander in Chief of the National Guard of the District of Columbia at all times. Command is exercised through the Secretary of Defense and the Commanding General, Joint Force Headquarters, District of Columbia National Guard. The Secretary of Defense has delegated his command authority to the Secretary of the Army for the District of Columbia Army National Guard and the Secretary of the Air Force for the District of Columbia Air National Guard. The District of Columbia National Guard is commanded by a Major General with a Brigadier General as his or her adjutant. The Mayor of the District of Columbia, or the United States Marshal for the District of Columbia, or the National Capital Service Director, may request the Commander in Chief to aid them in suppressing insurrection and enforcement of the law.”***

Donald Trump officially becomes president at noon and this change of general occurs at 12:01. “...Inauguration Day takes place on January 20 following a presidential election. The term of a president commences at noon (ET) on that day, when the Chief Justice administers the oath to the president.”

Obama is no longer calling the shots at that point.

So, for some reason Trump is doing this. The new secdef or secservice(s) won’t be in place by next Friday. Ash Carter will still be the SecDef and his service secretaries the SecArmy/Navy/AF/Marines/CG.

Sounds like Trump has an issue with the guy.

I wonder if the guy didn’t want to serve under Trump and asked Obama to dismiss him.

Here is his listings of postings:

1. June 1979 - February 1984, Platoon Leader, 104th Maintenance Company, Washington, District of Columbia

2. February 1984 - February 1985, Maintenance Officer, 140th Transportation Motor Transport Battalion, Washington, District of Columbia

17. June 2008 - Present, Commanding General of the Militia of the District of Columbia National Guard, Washington, District of Columbia

Don’t know. Seems like a career bureaucrat of the kind we see so often in Washington, DC, except he wears a uniform. Never heard of him, but seems pretty entrenched, and has a seemingly myopic view of things...a Washington, DC view.

Who ordered this?

I spotted the same thing you did. The WaPo's article is written in passive voice. Who did order this? The WaPo doesn't tell us. It may mean nothing, but it may be more deceit from the MSM.

Exactly my thoughts. It’s not in the article who ordered the General off the job, but my bet is it was Obama as until 12:01 P.M. he’s the president.

Sounds like politics again. Mr. Trump cannot order Gen.
Schwartz to do anything until he’s President. I think this is just another try by the left to blame Mr. Trump, instead
of the head of the golfing lizard.
