It sounds like Nicole Kidman is keeping her eyes wide shut when it comes to the many potential problems of a Donald Trump presidency.
The Oscar-winning actress, who is a dual citizen of both the United States and Australia, caused some controversy this week when she encouraged Americans to accept and support the reality-TV-host-turned-politician now that hes been elected.
Im always reticent to start commenting politically; Ive never done it in terms of America or Australia. Im issue-based, Kidman explained in a wide-ranging interview with BBC Two about her film Lion. So I just say, hes now elected, and we as a country need to support whosever the president because thats what the countrys based on.
Whatever, however that happened, hes there, and lets go, she added.

There goes her social life.
Finger in the wind?
Real Americans have been supporting Trump.
We are the reason he is going to be President in 7 days.
It’s the pseudo-hyphenated-Americans that are against him.
Them and the illegal aliens.
Is that Old Hag Huffington still consuming scarce oxygen?????
Give her credit. In the industry she’s in, she’s got to have balls of steel to say what she said.
Wow, I never liked her acting, but now I respect her opinion.
Good for her.
She did the right thing here.
If there is bravery involved, it is shown by her and not by Streep.
Maybe living in rural TN has rubbed a little on her.
Well you have to remember she’s married to Keith Urban, and country audiences tend to be more conservative. So they are wise to keep their political views to themselves mostly. As far as I know Urban’s never been political either aside from doing some benefits for environmental causes.
Who cares? Shut up and act.
Obviously she’s not as viciously ultra-left as most of her Hollywood peers.
Nicole is Australian by birth (although born on US territory).
That probably explains her ability to take a comparatively moderate political position.
Plus, she is married to a country singer (New Zealand/Australian of course).
I support her comments.
The more Conservative voices that come out of the entertainment crowd the better.
Drifting back toward a more rational tone in this nation is good.
Whether we like it or not, there are people out there who will listen to a person like Kidman when they wouldn’t listen to us.
Kidman’s performance in Lion is her best since she came from Ireland in Far and away.
Hey, we'll take her on her team.
Being married to that Scientologist wack job Tom Cruise knocked some sense in her. She knows and understands loony psychos, and knows their danger. Keith Urban loves her very much.
Hopefully she's has a few bob squirreled away.
Did she say she is a Hollywood lib?
“Wow, I never liked her acting, but now I respect her opinion.”
I totally agree. Thumbs up for Kidman.
