The Obama administration is ending the "wet foot, dry foot" policy that granted residency to Cubans who arrived in the United States without visas.

That's according to a senior administration official, who said the policy change was effective immediately.

While the US does not recognize dual citizenship, there is no law that prevents or penalizes a US citizen that is also a citizen of an other country.

I have US citizen parents and was born overseas.

I’m a US citizen as I meet the standard to be a US citizen and the country where I was born considers me to be a citizen of that country.

Probably did the right thing by accident. Raul has sent 10s of thousands of Cubans to the US to get on the “refugee” welfare gravy train and send their winnings back to support “la revolucion”.

So Obama finally found an immigrant group he doesn’t like - those fleeing Communism. What other country now shoots people for trying to leave? He’d probably throw back those escaping North Korea too.

“Dual citizenship and the asinine anchor baby policies need to be scrapped as well.”

Agreed. But sadly, our EXITING Dipsh#t in Chief has dual citizenship in both America AND La-La Land...and has himself TWO Anchor Babies with a Wookie.

The world has gone INSANE!

While the US does not recognize dual citizenship

Yes that's correct

there is no law that prevents or penalizes a US citizen that is also a citizen of an other country

There is no American law that authorizes this status either...

I have US citizen parents and was born overseas. I’m a US citizen as I meet the standard to be a US citizen

Fair enough, because of your already American parents you do meet the standard..

and the country where I was born considers me to be a citizen of that country

Maybe but not in America...What other countries decide has not legal standing here...

A case could be made for this policy, his timing proves him to be a coward.

What a legacy, for the first time ever, America would return refugees to tyranny. How disgusting. Good thing the Jews of WW 2 were not depending on Obama. Bad example, Jews weren't allowed to immigrate here other than small numbers. It was a bipartisan policy

Can't change dual citizenship, that's a function of the other country. The Cuban immigrant citizens here in the US are Cuban citizens as well, per Cuba's laws, not ours. Same applies to many countries. And you can't require naturalized citizens to give up their former citizenship, because that too is a function of the other country. You can require loyalty to the US

No they are not there is no such thing as dual citizenship in the United States...

It's not about the United States, it's about the country on the other end. I don't know about New Zealand. Different countries have different laws. Cuban's maintain their Cuban citizenship, nothing to do with us, Cuba still considers them citizens. The US does the same thing. During the Vietnam law misguided individuals fled to Canada to avoid the draft. Many became US citizens. They did not lose their American citizenship, and unless they took advantage of Ford's pardon, then applied to give up their American citizenship and were granted it, they'd be arrested as draft dodgers to this day. Other than those fleeing prosecution it's not an issue unless one visits the country of their former citizenship. Mandatory military service is often an issue.

Exactly, and depending on the laws of the country you were born in, you might or might not be able to give up that citizenship.

This tenth birthday thing sounds like a good cure of the anchor baby thing. Pregnant woman comes across the Tex/Mex border has baby, takes baby back to Mexico with a little American citizen in tow. She only needs to be in the US for a couple of hours to earn her free pass to come back any time.

Change US policy, it's not a law, to the 10 year plan and that would screw up the prospective mother jumping over the border having kid and jumping back across. It would also give INS 9 years and 364 days to catch up with her and escort her happy behind back to Mexico, and take her child with her. It would eliminate the bleeding heart crap about separating families, so you can't send mom back because you can't send the child back.

I like this!

I suspect it’s to prevent creating a citzen by birth when there’s no intention of living and contributing to the country.

Why you ask? Simple Cubans are not Muslims so Obama does not want them here (Also they tend to vote Republican)

But will the leftists cry out how the POTUS is racist for denying entry to Cuban refugees who risk their lives to get here on rafts made of buckets and barrels and scrap wood?

You will not hear a peep out of the MSM about it.
