For the last 4 years we’ve vacationed in the Black Hills with a goal of moving there in a couple years. The real estate market does not have a lot to offer. A medium grade home outside the city goes for $300 - $400,000 which will have about 5 acres.
And yes, it’s real white there, and I am not talking about snow.

We live about 12 miles SW of Rapid. Our Black Hills are more “user friendly” than the Rockies’.
