Zactly...

Why should anyone be forced by the incompetence of their government to leave their families, friends and country because of a complete lack of opportunity.

The reason Mexico is a 3rd world country is their people. They are not able to run a successful country on their own, yet their citizens are becoming a large percent of our population.

And yet they come here waving Mexican flags, proclaiming their Mexican pride, putting down America, and completely clueless of the irony that Mexico is such a horrible country that they had to flee here to do all that.

This is the easiest way to shut such people up...simply ask them why they are in America...if they are forced to think about that, they shut up and walk away.

“Most Latin America has long had a policy that everyone is equally Spanish and Indian. Anyone who agitates on the basis of skin color gets kicked to the curb. It’s not a bad policy really. Thailand does something similar with their mixed Chinese heritage.”

You ever been to Mexico? Next time you go, watch closely...doesn’t matter where, Baja, Colima, Chiapas, Veracruz, San Luis Potosi. It doesn’t matter where you are in Mexico, it is blantantly obvious who the Indians are and it is not because their skin is darker.

I liken it to a Jew coming here from Nazi Germany and still waving the Nazi Flag.

I agree. Illegal immigration has been a very damning thing, related to the government down there.

What bothers me, is that those who come here illegally, don’t admit to us or even themselves why they came. They still praise Mexico and trash the U.S. and us.

They came because of the system of government we have, and the opportunities available here. And then they trash everything. What a bunch of ungrateful people.

There’s nothing stopping that from happening now....except the Mexican government and a near genetic culture of corruption at all levels.

How many decades does Mexico get to grow up and evolve...what is stopping them now???

Mexico has far more mineral wealth, even than we do....and their location on the planet, with two huge coastlines in warm climates that should make Mexico the #1 tourist mecca on the Earth...what’s holding them back?

The US as Mexico’s relief valve, that’s what.

Yes. I agree with that. You may have seen it, but a few posts up thread I used the ‘relief valve’ (or another term meaning the same thing) term.

Yes, let the pressure build down there until something is done internally.

My suggestion we do something to help those people, was meant to suggest it would also help us. And why not help out people whose on government (seems to) spit on.

"As long as Mexico doesn’t put Russian bases there, I couldn’t care less what kind of government they have."

Or Chinese bases.

My experience been the opposite

I hear nothing going but praise and gratitude for the opportunities this country provides to these immigrants.

The bastuhds who piss me off are the so called “Mexican/American” with their fake history of Mexico and how it was stolen by the white man.

To which I always respond “Who? The blue eyed Klan, or the Catholic proselytizing brown eyed klan.

Believe me...I am not without compassion on this. Hard to blame Mexicans for seeking a better life. But the way I see it, the people that are hurt the most by illegal immigration are the poor people left behind, who have absolutely no hope of an improving way of life because there is no pressure on their government to change.

And when you put this in a perspective of many decades being wasted with little improvement, it makes it all that more sickening. Much of Europe and Japan was completely and utterly destroyed in WWII....SEVEN+ DECADES AGO, and look what has grown from the ashes. Why does Mexico and Central America continue to get a complete pass why we get the blame to boot?

At some point, the only thing that will prevail is tough love, that shuts the relief valve and forces countries south of our border to actually deal with their problems and evolve from the third world. In my view, this is the truly compassionate approach, because it will bring about change and the alleviation of human suffering faster.

You haven’t lived until you’ve seen a march by close to 100,000 people all carrying Mexican flags in the U.S., complaining.

That’s what we’ve had to deal with in Southern California.

There was so much blow-back that they stopped doing that, but it’s still what they think inside.

I’ve been out protesting when what appeared to be Mexican citizens on the other side of the street flipping us off with Mexican flags in hand.

Went to Robert Kennedy high school in Los Angeles. It’s one of three schools near downtown, that are $500 million concrete edifices to the illegal immigrant child. Almost all the children that go there are the children of illegal immigrants. (All three)

I attended a swim meet at the Robert Kennedy school, and one male child complained that our swim team was too white. That day about 85% of the team members on site were Hispanic.

These kids proceeded to separate from us by going inside until it was their turn to compete. At the end of the event, the home team is supposed to return the pool to the neutral configuration. These kids left and the visiting team (our team) cleaned up the pool area.

Part of the school grounds is the exact spot where Robert Kennedy was gunned down at the old Ambassador Hotel, before it was raised to create the school.

The wall would go a LONG way to making the Mexicans stay and fight, rather than running across the border into the “arms” of this country. It would be far too easy to simply run across an un-walled border. Our border people would be overwhelmed at the mad rush! That is simple logic.

You forget they have been indoctrinated by La Raza ( The Race) and know the answer is, that this was all there land once and they deserve it back. They call it Azlan. Putrid movement. In the Tucson area they call it Alta Mexico.

I understand where you are coming from, and I don’t disagree with you.

Just the exposure to the criminal element by those seeking to cross the border illegally is revolting, the women especially.

I think I understand the problem.

I’m in The Bay Area. Our Mexicans are more productive than yours.

I live here in SoCal...I know all about La Raza, MEChA, Aztlan, and reconquista...all of it very racist and separatist.

Most of the ones I see here are industrious also.

I’m not sure where this ‘entitiled’ mentality comes from.

It’s also a hoot to me to see them claim this area is theirs, when traditional Mexico only owned this land for 25 years after Span exited.

The (Mexican) entity that predated Spain did not occupy the Southwest United States. The name Mexico wasn’t adopted until something like 1825. The U.S. took over after the war, and the U.S. compensated Mexico to boot.

60% of Mexico’s people have European ancestry, just like the folks up here do. We’re just talking different parts of Europe. So what...

If we’re talking about who rally owns the land here, it would be the Indians who predated Spain and it’s land grants, and the short Mexican ownership. The Indians can point back thousands of years here.

Not practical, Mexico is four times the size of Iraq and has almost four times the population. You would need to mobilize the entire Army, plus the entire National Guard and reserves as well as conscript hundreds of thousands of additional soldiers to properly occupy that country, plus protect the rest of our interests around the globe.

Plus it would literally be actual imperialism on a grand scale. I don’t see any stomach for that. Man the border and build an effective defense ( which may mean selectively occupy key terrain south of the border).

Which was the one good thing about the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain.

Ultimately, people behind it, had no choice but to fight for their freedom.
