FBI chief given dossier by John McCain alleging secret Trump-Russia contacts
www.theguardian.com ^ | Jan 10, 2017 | Julian Borger

Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself.

The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow. They were drawn up by a former western counter-intelligence official, now working as a private consultant.

The Guardian has not been able to confirm the veracity of the documents’ contents, and the Trump team has consistently denied any hidden contacts with the Russian government...

Was McCain the source of this story?

No, but he's eager to "help" when it comes to smearing Trump...

McCain is a traitor. May actually be suffering from dementia. How is a senator impeached?

Come on, all the media is saying Trump peed on a bed 0bama slept on while in Russia, with whores taking part in the showers.

These are the same people that sat on the Monica story, the Hillary-Huma lesbian story, and the Obama gay-sex story.

“Something quite strange here. Has McCain been questioned about his direct or indirect role with this “former counter intelligence consultant”. Has he read the “documents”? Just whois this “consultant” and what is McCain’s relationship with him. Who commissioned him and who paid him? Could be a career ender for McCain.”

I hope so. SongBird McCain is just plain evil. He helped Hillary establish ISIS and now he wants to start a war with Russia to cover up his culpability.

I agree. They finally found one of his audio tapes collaborating with the enemy.

I understand being broken by the enemy, but he came back and pretended to be a hero. He also turned his back on all the other missing POWs and their families over the years.

And I still think he was responsible for the USS Forrestal. He was the only one transferred the night of the fire. So there was never a proper investigation because his Daddy was an admiral and squashed a proper investigation.

Having just been re-elected, McCain can only be forced out by public shaming and resignation.

Or expelled by the Senate, which is not likely to find 67 Senators willing to do so.

“McCain is the only member of the “Keating Five” who is still serving on Capitol Hill. The other four retired in 1990s: U.S. Sens. Alan Cranston, D-Calif.; Dennis DeConcini, D-Ariz.; John Glenn, D-Ohio; and Donald Riegle, D-Mich.”

McCain has a democrat crossover machine in AZ that keeps him in power. But he is 80 years of age, so he won’t be around for very much longer.

The real focus is McConnell. He can go nuclear on democrats to get Trump’s team in or he can cause damage by acting like the rules are to blame.

The opportunity before the American people is term limits for US Senators. The 17th Amendment was crafted in poor judgment. What should have happened historically is to give a state’s voters a means of firing their US Senator by recall. But SCOTUS has ruled that recall of US Senators is unconstitutional.

A constitutional amendment can be taken up by Congress or by state legislatures or by state referendums according to Article V.

Congress, especially the US Senate, will never limit themselves willingly. Donald Trump is unique in history that he can lead Americans to take up an amendment at the state levels. Such a successful gambit would force the US Senate to acquiesce but there is a worse danger in having Congress in control of the wording and meaning of an amendment. Such an amendment must stay under control of voters within each state. It takes 34 states to get an amendment to the National Archives Office which in turn will notify Congress and will tabulate the number of states that ratify an amendment. It takes 38 states to ratify.

Here is an example of what’s needed:

************************************************
AMENDMENT XXVIII

To restore effective suffrage of State Legislatures to Congress, the following amendment is proposed:

************************************************
Section 1.
A Senator in Congress shall be subject to recall by their respective state legislature or by voter referendum in their respective state.

Section 2.
Term limits for Senators in Congress shall be set by vote in their respective state legislatures but in no case shall be set less than twelve years nor more than eighteen years.

Section 3:
The seventeenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.

************************************************

Don’t know grounds to impeach McCain on, but it is needed. Maybe reopen his Navy investigation files of the flight deck sailors he killed from his sky-larking. Daddy was an Admiral so it was white-washed the first time around.
