Oh! Oh! Now you’ve done it! This is where the crazies come out - the minute you bring up Dr. Mercola. I said I’d stay out of this as people aren’t rational on this subject and it’s where I got lambasted on this same topic a few years back - by mentioning Dr. Mercola....I have since tried to forget all the names I was called!!
Kenndy may be left but the vaccine issue is not a left/right issue... if anything it’s seen as a right issue. So if any thing Kennedy on this one issue would be aligned with the right more then the left

Michael Moore of all people is a big anti fluoride in the water person

And you pick the one Bonafide left-wing person to run it so no matter what the commission comes up with the left cannot painted as a right-wing anti-science group
Again the fear of vaccines as a big source of other medical problems is not a left/right issue if anything though it tends to be construed as a anti-science right issue so you pick the one big lefty that on your side

I see your reasoning, and I agree. as long as we allow for folks like my family who don’t trust vaccines to opt out, great! What scares many conservatives like me is that many so-called conservatives will throw all beliefs in freedom and conscience out the door when a plague breaks out. Fear overrides everything else...even though they have gotten the vaccinations!?! This may be the issue which causes the GOP to concede to totalitarianism
There are 2 strains of human cells that are used in vaccines - both from abortions - one was in the early 40s and the other was in 1965. Rubella vaccine has always been made from those cells, as has chicken pox and lately things like rabies (for humans). So, yes it is true, but, no, not recent. Descendants of those same original cells.
I do think that children get too many vaccines today - chicken pox never was anything other than a nuisance disease, but the MMR, polio, DPT have all been a good thing. Those diseases were killers, literally.

Hmmmm....interesting. Trump seems to be putting into place people in charge of agencies/commissions who are most critical of the agencies. If you want to effect real change in an organization (including getting rid of it) then the best person is the person who is most critical.
I’m not sure if that logic applies here but it is consistent.

I think it will expose some things about vaccines that need to be seen. Kennedy is a clown and if things are exposed that need to be exposed, so be it.
