Ted Cruz just took the Dems' Jeff Sessions hearing hypocrisy and killed it with FIRE

During Senator Jeff Sessions’, R-Ala. (C,78%) Attorney General confirmation hearing today in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Ted Cruz, R-Tex. (A, 97%) pointed out numerous Democratic hypocrisies that have been manifested in the past few years and during the hearing.

Democrats on the committee, especially Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. (F, 0%) had been grilling Sessions on whether he would uphold abortion laws in the United States if he becomes Attorney General. Senator Patrick Leahy, D, Vt. (F, 6%) interrogated Sessions on LGBT rights, questioning whether Sessions would uphold civil rights laws as Attorney General.

But did the Democrats care when Obama routinely flouted the law?

Ted Cruz wasn’t having it:

CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO...

“When the Obama Justice Department sent millions of dollars of taxpayer money to sanctuary cities defying federal immigration law, the Democrats on this committee were silent. When the Obama administration refused to enforce federal immigration law…the Democrats on this committee were silent. When the Obama administration released tens of thousands of illegal aliens including rapists and murderers into the general population, Democrats on this committee were silent.”

Ted Cruz was kicking ass. And he wasn’t done. He pointed out Democratic hypocritical silence on Obama flouting the law and paying a ransom to Iran and for releasing Guantanamo terrorists without congressional approval.

Senator Cruz’s comments were met with acclaim from conservatives on Twitter:

And there goes @tedcruz back on the top of his game...calling out Democrats hypocrisy/lawlessness. Woo-hoo

Ted Cruz is absolutely destroying the democrats on the Senate Floor. Thank God we have him in the senate. #SenateHearings #ConfirmSessions

Preach it, Ted Cruz.

Were you paying attention during the primary? Cruz thought he was the second coming of Christ, and became unhinged once he realized his dirty tricks wouldn’t grant him access to heaven’s gates AKA the White House.

In 2008, the Democratic National Committee chose Ken Burns to produce the introductory video for the late Senator Edward Kennedy’s Democratic National Convention speech, which, according to Politico, presented Kennedy as “the modern Ulysses bringing his party home to port.” When Kennedy died, Burns produced a eulogy video for his funeral.

The time for division between Republicans is over. The time to work together as a collection of imperfect allies to make our nation great and politically defeat the left has begun.

Cruz said this today....

“I support Senator Sessions for attorney general for the very reason that many vehemently oppose him. Namely, I — and they — know that Sessions will enforce the law. The fact that this is controversial tells you all you need to know about the sorry intellectual state of our country’s elites, especially in the legal academy and federal bureaucracies. Senator Sessions believes in the foundational idea that we are governed by objectively knowable, written rules, and that we should not be subject to the interpretive whims of unelected, power-hungry bureaucrats. Sessions will instill this belief at the Department of Justice.”

The Senator you SHOULD be trashing is not Cruz, one of the top five BEST Senators despite the fact he ran for President without your permission, but Cory Boooker, who should be deported to North Korea.

I thought Cruz’s behavior was inexcusable during the campaign.
Today, however, he did fine. I don’t care if he has ulterior motives - our side needs SOMEONE (besides Trump) to tell off these leftist vermin, and it certainly doesn’t look like many others on our side (including Sessions) are willing (or able) to do that.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
No question Cruz was over the top during the campaign and even after Trump was nominated. He made some serious mistakes that damaged his future prospects. BUT in my view, he is a valuable warrior and ally in our life and death struggle with the Marxist-inspired, anti-American Leftists whose goal is the destruction of our Constitutional Republic. These enemies of the Republic you will see wreaking havoc in Washington on Inauguration Day.

http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/05/03/watch-trump-calls-out-cruzs-father-old-photo-lee-harvey-oswald

“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being, you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Trump said.

“Nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”

“What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the shooting?” Trump asked.

Easy. Trump attacked Cruz and Trump's Myrmidons then mindlessly echoed him.

How pathetically typical of you.

If you were honest you'd know that both attacked each other hard and regularly for the last six months of the campaign.

The Cruz Myrmidons (minions?) were at least as bad as those for Trump. Actually, I think they were a bit worse.

Cruz indeed went to the most important swing states the last week of the campaign. He stumped hard for Trump.

Michigan was won by just over 10,000 votes.

I don't like what he did before that, it sucked, but it's likely he helped gain Michigan for Trump in Michigan's most conservative areas. Big win. Good for Ted.

For helping make my vote count for the first time since the 1980's, I am thankful. I'm also glad he was never our nominee.

absolutely right!!
If we continue to attack Ted Cruz here on Free Republic
and treat him as a senator from across the aisle,
we will be stooping to the level of our enemy and
in the end we will be back where we started.
Some Freepers need to grow up!!

Those are certainly words of a grown up!

I voted for Cruz in the primary and now believe him to be a hot, steaming pile of excrement. Don’t like him, don’t trust him, sorry.

ES,

Hi. The continued screeching against one of the finest minds working for conservative values has reached a point of irrationality I never expected to see on FR. I don’t engage in much political talk on FR anymore because it so often descends into these ridiculous, childish shouting sessions. This kind of conversation has no value in moving conservative principles forward in the culture. It isn’t worth the time. Over 200 hundred posts and if you boiled away all the mindless screaming you might have three or four lines worth reading if you really wanted to advance your understanding.

Which is why I’m putting all my effort on my book these days. I’m learning a great deal, and hopefully others will benefit if they choose to share in my adventure. But I’m too old to waste my time screaming anymore. The sport of young people, I guess.

Peace,

SR
