President-elect Donald Trump's team is moving ahead with plans to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel out of Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, although diplomats and officials are ramping up warnings against the move.
CNN reported speculation in Israel is the U.S. will announce the move May 24, a national holiday in that country. Earlier this month, President Barack Obama renewed a waiver that blocks the move for six months.
Allies have said moving the embassy could ramp up violence.
"It's very dangerous," one European diplomat told CNN. "Chances for the peace process are going very quickly it's now or never. Violence is always a concern and, at this point, it's probably easy for Palestinians to demonstrate their frustration."
He added the move could also damage the U.S. standing in the peace process.
"If the U.S. changes its policy so dramatically, then it's very easy for others to dismiss their role and leadership in the peace process by saying, 'Well, now the Americans are so closely aligned with Israel, it's hard for us to take them as brokers.'"
The diplomat wants to wait on moving the embassy until a peace deal is in place.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas wrote to Trump saying he opposed the move, and has also written letters to the leaders of Russia, China, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Arab League.
Al-Jazeera reported, in the letter, Abbas told Trump the move would have a "disastrous impact on the peace process...

Trump....they are HUGE !
Shut off all funding to the muslim savages there. Not one more American nickel for them.
L
The Muslims demand the death of all Jews and Obama thinks Israel ought to at least meet them at least halfway.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....
Given what Obama has done, is this satire????
This will be a fascinating eight years to witness. I expect many great things, in spite of the ankle-biters on the left.
They can demonstrate their concern in Jordan or some other country.
My thought exactly! What peace process? The Arabs on the West Bank and in Gaza have had chances at peace since 1948. It’s decades beyond the point for that threat to be taken seriously.

Those who may have been wishing for more diplomacy on the order of the Bush administration, are going to have to pull themselves together and begin to enjoy having a real fearless leader for a change.
Trump is Bush without the marbles in his mouth, and the bats in his belfry.
Three cheers for Trump on this.
And some folks said he wasnt pro Israel. LOL
What peace process indeed! This has been going on since before I was born. That was a long time ago . . .
This so called Peace “Process” hasn’t moved an inch since Jimmy Carter signed off on it. The Israelis have given and given and given, and the Palestinians have refused to move an inch. That’s not a “process,” although the Establishment keeps abusing the word. Nor is it “peace” when the Muslims continue to kill Jews whenever they get a chance.
Your note reminds me of Rush’s view of compromise with your enemy.
To compromise, you have to be willing to give up good and accept at least some bad.
Don’t do it.
I think he’s right on target.
There’s no problem with giving your enemy a token concession that allows for something decent, but beyond that, no.
The Peace Process is a long-running sick joke!
No Guts, No Glory.
I love this guy.
The Palestinian’s threat to use terrorism has been somewhat diminished recently by world wide terrorism.
There already is a two state solution. Israel and Jordan. Jerusalem is the true and ancient capital of Israel and our embassy belongs there.
............I never cease to fall on the floor and start laughing my ass off when the two words “peace process” are raised.................particularly by a leftist European diplomat!
The false prophets keep trying to give reassurance of Peace...via a “peace process”. Except that this ‘process’ has been going on since the time of Jeremiah and others. They “lightly dress the wounds” of Israel, ie they minimize the damage done to her and they try to whitewash the walls...
Most of us are parents. And when our children are very little and they throw that temper tantrum and fling things around in an effort to get their own way, what do we as parents do?
We stop them in their tracks, and then we teach them better ways to negotiate their desires. It can take a bit of time for them to learn how to do this, but with consistency, they will learn to employ methods more likely to earn them what it is they want.
Those who seek to injure and destroy Israel need to be stopped in their tracks like an undisciplined child, and they need to learn how to get along with others, how to give and take, how to negotiate, and how to discipline themselves before they can ever hope to be a successful ‘state’.
It doesn’t help when mature nations give in to these spoiled brats. They do an injustice to the entire world, and not just to Israel.
