Deshaun Watson's 2-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Renfrow with 1 second remaining gave Clemson a wild 35-31 win over Alabama in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
Watson completed 36 of 56 passes for 420 yards and three scores in his last college game, as the Tigers (14-1) got their first national title since 1981.

two great teams compete from two great Trump states.
Congrats to Clemson; now please do something about L Graham
Epic game! Way to roar, Tigers!
I'm sick of Saban winning too much! =P
The final TD was on exactly the same play Notre Dame used to beat Florida State in 2014.
What? You say, Notre Dame lost that game?
What? Are you an ACC referee?
Great game. Congratulations to Clemson. As an Alabama alumnus I am proud of my team and there is no one I would rather lose to than Dabo Swinney, a former Bama national champ in 1992. He is a class act, a fine man with a deep faith that he is not ashamed to share.
Wow. What a game of two equally talented teams!
35 year wait for the Tigers national championship.
“Alabama and Clemson squads will become only the seventh and eighth teams to play 15 games since the NCAA was formed in the 1930s.”
Great game - instant classic. Congrats Clemson Tigers
Roll Tigers. LOL.
Consider: Alabama is the HRC of college football. The best players, the best coaches, the tradition, the love of the pundits, the infatuation by the media.
Good to see them lose.
Wow!

Great game! My all time ‘best’ College Football game was the 1971 ‘Game Of The Century’, Nebraska/Oklahoma. This one matched it for sure. Even the same, (I think), final score also.
What a game.
What a hard fought National Championship ought to be like.
Clemson, 35-31, decided with with Watson’s pass with one second left. Then Clemson kicked an onside kick, recovered it, and Watson knelt down for the final play.
People can say all they want to about Alabama and the program Sagen has put together...but you cannot argue with the results. I am however, glad to see Clemson break through and win in the rematch. They deserved it.
Alabama didn’t have enough quarterback
I don’t know if any game could ever top Texas-USC.
Darn it! Coach Nick, NOOOOOooooooo!
I’ve loved Nick Saban since he coached at LSU. He’s a great motivator of young men. Hated to see him go. Good man.
Congratulations to Clemson, well played!
