Many thousands of women are expected to converge on the nations capital for the Womens March on Washington the day after Donald J. Trumps inauguration. Jennifer Willis no longer plans to be one of them.
Ms. Willis, a 50-year-old wedding minister from South Carolina, had looked forward to taking her daughters to the march. Then she read a post on the Facebook page for the march that made her feel unwelcome because she is white.
The post, written by a black activist from Brooklyn who is a march volunteer, advised white allies to listen more and talk less. It also chided those who, it said, were only now waking up to racism because of the election.
You dont just get to join because now youre scared, too, read the post. I was born scared.
Stung by the tone, Ms. Willis canceled her trip. This is a womens march, she said. Were supposed to be allies in equal pay, marriage, adoption. Why is it now about, White women dont understand black women?

"Making fun of?" Is that "code" for "demeaning" and "putting in their place?"
Regards,
Could also be horrifying.
It’s red and says Make America Great Again.
Why do I get the feeling that all out women-on-women brawls are going to break out. That’s what happened at the Tower of Babylon. The people began to speak different languages, and that erupted into violence.
Sexist Black men have perfected a color blind, equal opportunity Bitch slap, that cuts across all races, ethnic groups, and socio economic classes......if nothing else, at least Gansta’ Rap has given us that one good thing
I attended one Trump rally during the election, and one “Thank You Tour’ rally, yet never wore a red hat (I don’t look good in red and I don’t like baseball caps).
But.. Make America Great Again is my motto :)
Praying for Trump and our country.
The black racist Left is in control of the March, with guilt-ridden white women as their assistants.
This is going to be fun to watch, i.e. who can out-white the other white women in guilt trips, and blacks who beat white women verbally about “white privilege” and “limousine liberals”.
Just going to get the pop-corn and soda concession and watch the fireworks explode among the fools and their new masters.
Yep, except I don’t look good in red. :)
(went to election rally and thank you rally in my home town)
There’s also a white version.
Farah, coins a 'new' phrase? There is no doubt had Trump told anyone to sit down and shut up, Farah would not have described his words in like manner.
Around a million pro-Trump Americans will attend, but the articles are about the alleged thousands who might protest. It’s no wonder decent people don’t trust the fake news.
We have taken the drugs from the mentally ill lets sit back a watch the show
Wedding Minister? That is a new one to me and I’ve been ordained for over 40 years. Sounds like she bought an online ordination so she could cash in on legalized gay marriages.
I predict a lackluster turnout. I also hope for a frigid wicked cold wind chill to blow around D.C. that day.
Not only the weather (which is supposed to be mild), but Washington will be swarming with Pro Trump people. What were they thinking. They should have done it a week before or a week after. Hotel rooms are at a premium (we are paying almost $800 a night for ours) and no parking. It’s going to be a mess. Marches Donald mean nothing. Remember our big March in Washington against Obamacare. We literally had close to a million people and today we are still fighting Obamacare. What year was that? It was fun, though!
“...Washington swarming with Pro-Trump people...”
Excellent point! Their timing is poor - and they couldn’t plan to wait until the week after as the pro-lifers will descend upon D.C. for the Friday pro-life march on 1/27 in huge numbers.
Their march will fail - more winning to come!
The picture caption is about all one needs to know about this march:
“Four organizers of the Womens March on Washington.
From left, Tamika Mallory, a gun control advocate and board member of the Gathering for Justice, a nonprofit founded by Harry Belafonte;
Linda Sarsour, executive director of the Arab American Association of New York;
Bob Bland, founder of Manufacture New York;
and Carmen Perez, executive director of the Gathering for Justice.”
And this from the article:
“Even as they are working to ensure a smooth and unified march next week, the national organizers said they made a deliberate decision to highlight the plight of minority and undocumented immigrant women and provoke uncomfortable discussions about race.”
