Students at one of Europe’s top universities are calling for philosophers such as Plato, Descartes, Immanuel Kant and Bertrand Russell (pictured) to be dropped from the curriculum because they are white.
The student union at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London is demanding that when studying philosophy “the majority of philosophers on our courses” should be from Africa and Asia as opposed to being white, Western thinkers.
The students claim this is part of a strategy to “decolonise” the college, which they regard as a “white institution”.

Yeah, maybe they can study the philosophy of the black and Muslim slave traders in Africa and include great Asian philosophers like Mao Tse-tung and Pol Pot.
If you remove the works of those dreaded white males from the philosophy curriculum (and for that matter, the mathematics or physical sciences curricula), you’d wind up with about one or two paragraph’s worth of reading material left to cover. I suppose that the upside for the less motivated students will be a very easy curriculum.

They should just rename the philosophy major to “Europen Philosophy”, and then those people who WANT to study Aristotle, Kant, etc can do so, and the rest can major in Asian or African philosophy.
But you know that won’t satisfy them. They want to STOP people from being exposed to rigorous material. They want to STOP people from being exposed to true critical thinking.
The NE corner of Africa is all the African nationalists have as far as a contributing ancient culture goes.
Without it they are a blank sheet of paper.
Me neither. If you want to learn what a culture has to offer, you don't study it in a "[insert culture here]-studies" program... you immerse yourself in it.
Want to learn about Asian culture? Go to Asia. You will find in doing so that there are many, many Asian cultures, not just one. Want to learn about Western culture? Well, the West is here for you. Go to the local university and sign up.
But stay out of the hyphenated-studies programs... they're crap.
Well I’d like to ban students and universities. Don’t mean stem of course but why should we pay people who hate us?
I'm with you on that, at least with banning rap music. These people think they're contributing to the music field with rap, and it's not much more than banging on drums in Africa without melody. I was on a plane a few days ago, a black guy was sitting on the aisle seat next to my wife. When the plane landed and we're standing waiting to get off the plane, the black buy cranks up his mp3 player playing rap and sets his headphones on his shoulders out of his ears. Of course all within ten feet were annoyed by the rap. I felt like punching him, but waited out the five minutes or so to deplane. What is it with black punks who are insensitive and inflict their black music on whites around them? I think they are the racists for doing so.

Somebody needs to point out that their heroes, Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin were all “white” guys. Lotsa lil snowflake heads would go splodey-splode.
The effort is appreciated, but the saints will all be banned next. The ultimate purpose is to root out all reason and Christians, and precursors like Greeks and Hebrews.

St. Augustine was certainly African geographically, but as a Berber, he'd still be too Caucasian to make Afro-Centrists happy.
