Students at one of Europe’s top universities are calling for philosophers such as Plato, Descartes, Immanuel Kant and Bertrand Russell (pictured) to be dropped from the curriculum because they are white.
The student union at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London is demanding that when studying philosophy “the majority of philosophers on our courses” should be from Africa and Asia as opposed to being white, Western thinkers.
The students claim this is part of a strategy to “decolonise” the college, which they regard as a “white institution”.

If this happens, the UK will have slipped a little more into History’s trash bin created by PCism.
Our universities need fewer students.
There is obviously a student perception they are there to educate the universities.
What is the name of this “Top University?”

In terms or humanity and intellectual evolution, that will put you back to the caves....
At a certain point, they’re going to have to stop referring to these as “top universities.”
Great Oriental and African philosophers such as Mao Tse Tung and Robert Mugabe.
In other words they think one class of 20 minutes should cover an entire semester.

The college has Oriental in it’s name - that’s racist.
The slow but steady drip, drip, drip of white racism and bigotry is having an effect on both sides of the pond.
RACISITS!
Well, there are a few great Asian philosophers, such as Confucius, who could certainly be included if they are not already. But Plato and Aristotle and their like cannot reasonably be dropped. And I don’t know of any great African philosophers, I’m afraid.
The irony is that they are depriving themselves and thus putting themselves at a disadvantage.
