On general principle, putting one’s relatives on the public payroll is always bad optics, IMO, the politics of said relatives notwithstanding.
Trump needs to rethink this; it could backfire bigly.
Nothing stopping Kushner from having Trump’s ear in an informal, advisory capacity.

Honestly? No, I don't think they do. I think they are jumping into this with every intention of contributing to their country and working to improve things for people...and they don't realize that the media and the opposite party look at them as someone to vilify, rip to shreds, and destroy if possible. What is going to happen them over the next few years I would not wish on my worst enemy.
He's Trump's family and a member of the administration. As far as the Democrats are concerned they're fair game.

The AP story says he’s complying with ethics rules pertaining to public **employees** and goes on to say the **laws** are stricter for Kushner than for the President. Then the story says he’ll only be in an **advisory** role.
So...I’m confused. Employee, or not?
I agree it’s going to be brutal. More brutal than anyone ever deserves. I am shocked everyday but what I’ve been seeing and reading and I was honestly trying to be honest and remember the things we did and said and I don’t think it was as bad as what they are doing because they have the entirety of the press and popular culture in their corner.
That’s odd, in my book ... because he didn’t even react that way when his wife and children were being harassed by a homosexual freak while boarding a flight from NYC to D.C..
