Jared is married to President Trumps daughter Ivanka, and has been an integral part of the Trump campaign from the outset.
( AP Report ) [ ] Kushners lawyer has said he would step down as CEO of his familys real estate business if he took a White House position and would divest some of his assets in order to comply with federal ethics laws that apply to government employees. The law requires Kushner to take more significant steps to detangle his business interests than Trump, given that conflict of interest laws largely do not apply to the president.
Mr. Kushner is committed to complying with federal ethics laws and we have been consulting with the Office of Government Ethics regarding the steps he would take, Jamie Gorelick, a partner at the law firm of WilmerHale, said in a statement Saturday, before Kushners role was finalized. (read more)
This past weekend The New York Times reported Kushner hired a Washington law firm to review and assist in navigating federal ethics and compliance laws, as he positions himself to exit his company and join the White House in an advisory role.
In 2005 Jared Kushner was forced to take over his familys real-estate business after his father was jailed for tax evasion; he was 24.

Is that THE Jamie Gorelick???
is Jared a right-winger?
I just learned that Kenny G’s last name is Gorelick.
The Washington Post is reporting that Kushner's lawyer is none other than Jamie Gorelick.
For me, that raises more alarm bells than a forest fire the size of Wyoming.
It seems I learn something new on FreeRepublic every day. LOL.
The new Val Jar? ...
The MSM-Democrats will try to make this into the biggest scandal in history.
But that’s nothing. They’re going to try to make every single DJT appointment, and action, into the biggest scandal in the history of scandals.
You know why? OK, I’ll tell you why.
It’s because numerous, incredible, breathtaking scandals are going to come out about the Obama years after DJT takes office, and the MSM-Democrats have to come up with Trump scandals to act as a counterweight, to allow them to say “the other side does it too.”
They absolutely have to do this. They have no choice. It doesn’t matter how ridiculous they sound, it doesn’t matter how silly the “scandals” they wamp up sound, it doesn’t matter how much credibility they lose with middle America.
They simply have to do it. The know history is watching, and they can’t let Obama, the first Black President, the Democrat to redeem all Democrats and their history of slavery, and lynching, and cross-burning, and Jim Crow, and Bull Connor, go down as a feckless, corrupt, lying traitorous fool.
That’s why they have to do it. Since you asked.
“Is that THE Jamie Gorelick???”
If it is, she’s part and parcel of the ‘swamp’, and needs to be in an orange jumpsuit alongside Hillary and Lois Lerner.
If you want to get something done, hire someone who can smooth things over for you.
When I posted on a couple of threads last week suggesting that I don't trust Jared Kushner, I'd estimate that 95% of the people here on FreeRepublic who responded to me were very critical of me.
Let's see how many of those folks change their tune as details like this emerge.
I swear this place is turning into an insane asylum.
In 2005 Jared Kushner was forced to take over his familys real-estate business after his father was jailed for tax evasion; he was 24.
And I believe Christie was the prosecutor?
Ten bucks says they won't.
And that itself ought to be the biggest warning sign you ever saw in Washington.
No wonder he goes by G.
There was an article in Fortune (I think) recently on how Jared won the election for Trump-under the radar. He has a great team in place already.
“is Jared a right-winger?”
Not really sure. I assume he is a registered Dem like the rest of the Kushners.
“And I believe Christie was the prosecutor?”
Yes. And it’s supposed to be a huge reason why Christie is out of the Trump administration.
LMAO.
