The Prime Minister and Mr Trump are due to meet in Washington in the spring following the preparatory meetings by her aides over the Christmas period.

A date for the meeting is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to come within weeks of Mr Trump's inauguration on January 20.

The status of the special relationship between the two long-time allies has faced fierce speculation ever since Mr Trump won the US presidential election.

That speculation has been partly fuelled by the president-elect's apparent close relationship with the former Ukip leader Nigel Farage.

“Mr Johnson’s US visit will also see him meet key figures including Speaker Paul Ryan and senators Bob Corker and Mitch McConnell.”

A limey leftard meeting other yank leftards.

Nigel Farage is not in the Prime Minister’s (”Conservative”) Party, and he is not even in Parliament. Thus he cannot be in her Cabinet, nor could he become Prime Minister after Brexit passed. (More’s the pity!!)

I suppose that Prime Minister May could appoint Nigel Farage Ambassador of Great Britain to the United States. Good!

Boris Johnson has the same hair principles as PE Donald Trump.

Someone needs to post photos of each of them. It’s uncanny - they look like twin brothers.

But he could be made a Lord, I’m sure Lady T had Lords in her cabinet.

Farage is the best thing out of England since Churchill!

Better make that meeting on the Hill snappy, with Ryan, Mitch and Corkey.

Otherwise, Schumer and Cruz will slide down the hall sideways to mug for the cameras.

If England wants to repair their relationship with the US one thing they could do is promise to veto anything that obunghole tries to get past the UN General Assembly OR the Security Counsel between now and the inauguration. I think obunghole my try to put Israel even further in the hole.

If England wants to repair their relationship with the US...

There would be nothing to repair if Theresa May and Boris Johnson hadn't decided to publicly criticise Trump, with Johnson going so far as to call Trump "unfit". Then when he won, May's administration noticeably dragged their feet on reaching out to Trump. They've botched this horribly at every turn so far.

Theoretically, yes, Nigel Farage could be made a Lord, thus making him eligible to be a Minister. However, I don’t think he’d want to be. He may well still have ambitions to be elected to the House of Commons and accepting a peerage would rule that out. There’s also the fact that there are constant rumblings about further ‘reforms’ to the House of Lords that if they ever happen would make it a completely powerless position.

This Lord Monarchy crap don’t fly over here, we don’t even want to hear about it.

England did the right thing in throwing off the global Left with Brexit, US did the right thing by throwing off the Left last November, let’s proceed from here. Farage should be our diplo focal point, screw the monarchy.

Nigel Farage is a monarchist.

The only people who oppose the Monarchy in the UK are wacko leftists...

Also The Queen is not directly involved in public policy in the UK. The Prime Minister and Cabinet are responsible.

Nigel Farage has committed the sin of being right on an issue much of the British political establishment was wrong on.

Historically this usually gets you executed...

I can’t imagine any government giving him an honor, let alone a Knighthood or a Life Peerage. Despite the fact that he deserves it for what he accomplished on she will.

Enthusiasm.
Disillusionment.
Panic.
Search for the guilty.
Punishment of the innocent.
Praise and honors for the non-participants.
