In WW2 (the last war which the US unequivocally won), we did not hesitate to level enemy cities through mass fire-bomb raids, killing enemy civilians by the hundreds of thousands.
Notice that Germany and Japan developed a profound disinterest in engaging in war after that.
The US should proclaim a similar level of disinterest in "collateral damage". When we find a terrorist, we won't bother to try to capture him -- we drop a 500 lbs JDAM on his location, without regard to whoever else might be there.

I don’t think the US during WW2 hunted down and killed enemy combatants families and extended family who already were captured and in prison...

Basically because of feckless leadership from Obama we start killing people because they belong to a certain family?
