President Obama has made an emotional pitch to President-elect Donald Trump not to reverse his executive actions that have shielded immigrants brought here illegally as children from deportation.
He told Democrats in a closed door meeting he felt strongly about the issue in personal terms, and apparently has made a similar appeal to his successor.
The issue is politically fraught and was central to Democratic appeals to Hispanic voters in their opposition to Trump's election.
'He said ... he felt very strongly about this and he understood former presidents are supposed to step back from the field, but he said this one means so much to him personally that he would not step away from the responsibility of saying something if necessary,' Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois told NBC.
Durbin said he asked Obama about the issue during a caucus meeting where Democrats strategized about how to protect Obamacare from Republican repeal.

And that's been one of Obama's primary goals since he took office. And if they are also Moslem, that's just several times better.
Here are two more items that receive very little air time.
1. No more anchor baby program.
2. Get rid of dual citizenship.
I would like to see the practice ended but with a change in the law it is almost a sure thing that those already “anchored” will be allowed to be citizens and, of course, socialists. You left out the “anonymously.” That is the important part. The society does need more children but only if they are raised as Americans. There should be no possibility of allowing wetback parents to stay with their citizen children. There is no reason that Guatemalan parents cannot take their “American” children with them when they go. Or they can leave them without hope of locating them and using them as magnets.
BURN THEIR IMMIGRATION PAPERS! Deport them immediately after January 20!
I have much sympathy for the “dreamers”.
My kids had school friends who came as babies and have known no other home. In some cases they had younger siblings born here who are thus citizens.
The priority should be the clear-cut cases of deporting criminals and enforcing existing border law.

He told Time, we will work something out... regarding dreamers., how is that not amnesty? I can’t decide whether he has been negotiating with GOP since his 2000 campaign or whether he is a billionaire NY lib. I guess there aren’t many differences. He is stimulus, jobs created or saved(using taxpayer money).. he might build a wall.. but he believes govt has a role in healthcare. He sounds a lot more like Obama or Jeb. I didn’t trust him in 2000 and I can now see why I was right them. He certainly isn’t a Constitutional conservative, because that means you can’t run a country like a business by acting unilaterally.
Just follow the law!
We agree, it seems, that the parents should have thought about that in the first place. Deport those who are here illegally. Encourage them to take their American born kids with them.
