President Obama has made an emotional pitch to President-elect Donald Trump not to reverse his executive actions that have shielded immigrants brought here illegally as children from deportation.
He told Democrats in a closed door meeting he felt strongly about the issue in personal terms, and apparently has made a similar appeal to his successor.
The issue is politically fraught and was central to Democratic appeals to Hispanic voters in their opposition to Trump's election.
'He said ... he felt very strongly about this and he understood former presidents are supposed to step back from the field, but he said this one means so much to him personally that he would not step away from the responsibility of saying something if necessary,' Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois told NBC.
Durbin said he asked Obama about the issue during a caucus meeting where Democrats strategized about how to protect Obamacare from Republican repeal.

Triage deportation: first the dangerous felons; then squatting border jumpers; then the miscellaneous (so-called) `refugees’—eventually all of them.
In the meantime, garnish their remittances back home at 50% (?) so we can spend that money on a wall and security, because as we have seen otherwise they will `boomerang’.
Things have gotten so bad we may still be deporting by the end of Trump’s first term, so the remittance money should still be coming in. The worm has turned on old Mexico.

A criminal (burglar) who takes their child along, when breaking into a home, and occupying it, once caught must suffer the consequences of their crime. The criminal goes to jail, and the child goes back to their home, wherever that may be. It’s not the responsibility of the homeowner, or the courts to take care of the child.
What’s the difference between an illegal alien, who is caught invading my country and the burglar. He may be here for a while before being caught, but the illegal alien goes to jail and/or is deported. The child brought along needs to go home also. I don’t care how much the child enjoyed the benefits of their parent’s illegal acts and presence in my country. The child needs to go home with their parent.
Those born here should not be separated from their parents. The parents should be deported and take the child with them.
If that child is considered a citizen because of birth, that child can come back when they reach the age of majority, just like any other child born to an American, who chooses to live in a foreign country after the birth of a child.

There really is no such thing as an ‘anchor baby’. The usage of the 14th Amendment to allow these persons to be born on US soill & be given citizenship is just plain wrong.

The problem is we really don’t know how old these people are. They lie. 2/3 of the docs turned in in 1986 were forged. AND finally it will require all of their relatives to stay also. They will be voting and their relatives and it’s a amnesty. Remember the Rush challenge? They can all stay but never vote. It was never accepted. If one guy passes a bad check, the corner store doesn’t accept checks anymore. So why do we accept the word of a population of habitual liars? DNA tests anyone?

This is a topic very near and dear to Obama’s heart. His empathy in this case is so deep, it’s almost as if he can feel what it’s like to be born in another country and brought here to the USA as a child...
