Obama told Trump NOT to deport 'dreamers' – illegals who were brought here as children

President Obama has made an emotional pitch to President-elect Donald Trump not to reverse his executive actions that have shielded immigrants brought here illegally as children from deportation.

He told Democrats in a closed door meeting he felt strongly about the issue in personal terms, and apparently has made a similar appeal to his successor.

The issue is politically fraught and was central to Democratic appeals to Hispanic voters in their opposition to Trump's election.

'He said ... he felt very strongly about this and he understood former presidents are supposed to step back from the field, but he said this one means so much to him personally that he would not step away from the responsibility of saying something if necessary,' Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois told NBC.

Durbin said he asked Obama about the issue during a caucus meeting where Democrats strategized about how to protect Obamacare from Republican repeal.

In case it’s not clear, the “dream” is to live in the US, and claim the full spectrum of first-world services while having it paid by US taxpayers.

There is a difference...Trump doesn’t have the power to lock up Hillary. It’s someone else’s job to prosecute, convict and sentence her.

Trump does have the power to rescind an executive order, and to order the departments under his control to enforce the laws.

As for Obama, the only thing Trump should say is ‘Adios, amigo!’.

Deporting the EO amnestied wetbacks first, i.e. the "dreamers" and any others who have been illegally awarded citizenship from their illegal status would induce at least some of the others to start moving back over the border. It would make it apparent that Uncle Sam is serious. If that were done then the deportations continued through the next least likely to be deported group and the felons the drift would probably become a steady stream then a rush. I hope that thought has occurred to Mr. Trump.
Deportations should be accompanied by confiscation of all assets to pay for deportation expenses. Anchor babies can be allowed to stay on the condition that small children will be adopted out. This has to come in conjunction with an end to ALL welfare and subsidies of any sort available to illegals. While illegals are still in the country the FedGove should begin to mulct them for repayment of all welfare previously given and all expenses incurred by the FedGoveby the presence of the illegals. Emloyers should start facing some certain and serious fines. Laws should be passed to add jail time for employers of wetbacks at any level.

Trump has made it clear: Priority number one are those who have been convicted of a crime are to be deported. Considering the amount of hurdles liberals in many population centers are tossing up in front of that goal, I don't think he'll have much time (nor care, to be honest) seeking to toss out ‘dreamers.’

Now the better question is if he'll reverse the automatic green cards for those illegals or not. I'm thinking he will; not as a stab towards Obama, but as leverage. And I think it will work too.

There are LOTS of criminals(with kids) who go to jail and leave those kids without relatives or others to take care of them. The “Dreamers” are no different. It’s the fault of the law-breakers and the kids have to suffer the consequences. Where are the Democrats WAILING about those kids? OH! They aren’t potential Dem illegal voters - they are already locked in as kids of felons.

There should be no further releases from Gitmo. These are extremely dangerous people and should not be allowed back onto the battlefield.
