They’re so bad that the Jordanians don’t even want them.

Besides, Zuheir Mohsen made it plain that they themselves wanted to take over Jordan after they had taken all of Israel.

Let’s put it this way: It’s a direct threat on the United States, since the embassy would be functionally US property.

——Trump should respond by offering a mutual defense treaty to Israel.——

Thanks, but no thanks....Israel can hold their own...and have..

We have spilled enough blood in the ME to last 10,000 years...

At the same time, Abbas said he does not believe that Trump would actually follow through with the move.

Just doing the job that GW promised to do but didn't.

As we know, there has been talk about moving the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem for decades. It's about time that some administration actually does it. Hopefully, Trump will be true to his word.

As for Abbas, it's none of his business if the US embassy is moved to Jerusalem, since Jerusalem is NOT his territory and he is NOT an American. What he's doing is international racketeering with his threats.

It is absurd for the U.S. to hedge it’s bets based on the happiness or unhappiness of the Arabs on the West Bank and Gaza.

Move the embassy to Jerusalem and be done with it.

Israel has a documented presence in the city for thousands of years. It was Israel’s capital in ancient times.

I don’t believe it has ever been an Arab capital, though I may be wrong there.

It’s Israel’s and Israel has every right to use it’s land as it sees fit, and we should honor the wishes of the nation where our embassy exists.

Just ahead in the narrative, right before David is anointed in ch. 16, Saul gets word:

1 Sam 15

28. And Samuel said to him, The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you:
29. And also the Netzach* of Israel will not lie nor change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind:

*Netzach (נצח), n. "victory, strength, glory"; natzach, nitzach (נצח) v. "TRUMP", overcome, win, be victorious, gain the upper hand, defeat, vanquish, etc.

You got that right. For far too long we’ve pussyfooted around the IP conflict, usually making demands on Israel because they are the only ones who actually give substantial breaks when pressured. GWB’s response to the Clinton Initiative failure was to ignore the Palestinians. If Trump wants to make something happen, he knows that the Palestinians must feel more pressure. Time for them to step up and act like they want a country, if they want one, or continue to stand aside as the world progresses.

A deal to settle land the dispute and form a country with permanent borders makes all the UN resolutions mute.

The Arabs/Muslims always threaten the West by saying, “If you do X, the whole Middle East powder keg will blow”!

They have intimidated hundreds of governments over the last 100 years, and...it works!

The US State Dept. is most susceptible to these threats and they always go into the scare mode when Husseini, Nasser, Assad, Sadat, Arafart, PLO, HAMAS, Abbas or (you fill in the blank) wave the saber in the air and say the end is near.

IF the Americans do move the Embassy then it will be in West Jerusalem so what do the Arabs care? Officially, they say they are for a Two-State Solution (utter lie) with a divided capital, west for Jews, East for PLO. The truth is, is that they want it all and an American move would mean recognition of WEST Jerusalem belonging to the Jews but, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, that is way too much for the PLO to accept, hence, the threats.
