A group of more than 1,100 law school professors from across the country is sending a letter to Congress on Tuesday urging the Senate to reject the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) for attorney general.

The letter, signed by professors from 170 law schools in 48 states, is also scheduled to run as a full-page newspaper ad aimed at members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will be holding confirmation hearings for Sessions on Jan. 10-11.

"We are convinced that Jeff Sessions will not fairly enforce our nation's laws and promote justice and equality in the United States," states the letter, signed by prominent legal scholars including Laurence H. Tribe of Harvard Law School, Geoffrey R. Stone of the University of Chicago Law School, Pamela S. Karlan of Stanford Law School and Erwin Chemerinsky of the University of California, Irvine School of Law.

I can get 1,100 baked potatoes to sign the same thing, and the potatoes collectively have a higher IQ and more use to society.

So Prof. Tribe, who kissed ass for decades unsuccessfully trying to get a SC nomination, somehow has a problem with Sessions? Did The Rejected Professor do the same for the racist, affirmative action appointeds Eric Holder & Loretta Lynch?

What, Prof Tribe, is your learned opinions of the “enforcement of the law” of these two AGs?

"The hundreds of undocumented law professors on FreeRepublic heartily endorse Sessions."

Bingo! Post of the week!

Yes, we are undocumented professors of law and undocumented journalists, and we deserve to be treated on an equal basis with those possessing documentation.

I wonder how many total law school professors there are? The 1,100 sounds like a lot unless there are 30K professors.

It also smacks of the -"scientific consensus" argument for globull warming.

Further reinforcing the view of America that universities are filled with leftist, out-of-touch elitists.

there is a reason law schools are not the cash cows they used to be.

Law schools are no longer about law, they are about generating student loan dollars to perpetuate their universities.

"I wonder how many total law school professors there are?"

There are at least 202 US law schools. Rutgers Law School has a faculty count of 88. Guessing that is about average, the number of national law school faculty faculty would total close to 18,000.

I'm amazed if they can only find 1,100 nutty professors to sign on to this. What is America coming to?

“We are convinced that Jeff Sessions will not fairly enforce our nation’s laws and promote justice and equality in the United States,”

Translation; We fear he will not allow continued liberal interpretation of simply worded law.

Only 1,100 out of an estimated 232,847? That's less than 1/2 of 1 %...not may at all.
