The newly appointed prime minister of Italy is calling for massive changes in the country's immigration policy for 2017. Paolo Gentiloni is expected to call for a full reversal on his predecessor's policies which allowed hundreds of thousands of migrants enter Europe through Italy.
A two-page instructional document has been sent to police stations throughout Italy ordering officers to increase efforts to deport migrants. The document says the change is important to battle a growing migratory pressure and an international context marked by instability and threats.

Italy will open 16 detention centers for migrants while they are being arranged for return.

Since 2013, more than half-a-million migrants have arrived in Italy which is almost the entire population of Florence.
Anis Amri, the migrant man who drove a car into a Christmas market in Berlin last year, arrived in Europe via Italy.
Beppe Grillo, leader of the Five Star Movement party, has also called for drastic changes. Until now, it has been time for sorrow, sympathy, solidarity," he says. But now, "it is time to act and protect.

Be prepared for REALLY LOUD tsk tsk ing!
You know that works on all the other EU leaders!
I mean it — REALLY LOUD!
Good for Paolo! I wish him much success.
I guess that Italy isn’t going to slip quietly into the dark like Germany plans.
Yep. Batten down the hatches, there’s a virtue signalling storm ahead. By which I’d be more impressed if I thought that the ones in moral hysterics actually had to live with the problem themselves...
NOW.....the Italians are winning too.......Trumptagion.
After the Italians voted against a referendum by the pro invaders and pro EU PM Renzi by a 60-40 margin, I think the powers that be are getting the message.
Europeans have finally had enough with their establishment.
The Trump effect is world wide.
Forza Italia!
Not so fast. We don’t know how the rest of the EU will react. Will Europe empty itself via Italy?
They are going to find removing the invaders is almost impossible. By international law the receiving country has to agree to take them back. If they don’t then Italy can’t legally remove them. (The countries the invaders come from do not want them back.)
Italy has three choices, allow them to stay and suck on welfare, move them to concentration camps, or start shooting them. The only thing that will definitely stop the invasion and convince the invaders to leave on their own is shooting them. I don’t see that happening for a few more years. The West has become too soft and politically correct.
On the plus side, Italy is so financially strapped they don’t have the luxury of waiting very long or spending much more money. Bullets are cheap.
He’s with the Democratic (social-democrat) party, too. Even the leftists are starting to see the light.
Really the only hope for Europe is that they wake up and reverse the damage they have caused with the Islamic invasion before it is too late.
Otherwise, one way or another, Europe will become a massive killing field once again.
Arrivederci migrants!
Italy appears to have discovered their will to survive.
I hope it is not too late.
Im in italy right now end the migrants are every where.
Mostly panhandling my daughter says
OBAMA SAID SEND THEM HERE NEXT WEEK AND WE WILL SETTLE THEM IN.
The pro-migrants can take their “international law” and stuff it — refusal to take back illegal migrants should be treated as an act of war.
Good. Send them to Germany to Retard Merkel’s house.
I agree with your point with respect to international law.
But I think international law is essentially unenforceable.
If Brussels makes a stink, they risk Italexit.
If the Italians are pissed enough - they will deport.
:)
“But I think international law is essentially unenforceable.”
It’s an agreed upon set of protocols. As long as the UN exists, then if a country violates them it does so at the risk of serious sanctions that could easily bankrupt Italy. (Italy is already in such dire straits that for all intents and purposes it is already bankrupt. Only the good will of the other EU economies keeps it afloat. Those economies are unlikely to do that if Italy commits the unpardonable sin of defending itself against the Muslim hordes.) As in all things timing is everything. The world is not ready for Italy to take the necessary steps to save itself.
Also, it is likely that the receiving countries will put the invaders back on the same plane and return it. They can also close their airports to such flights. In addition, those flights would be extremely dangerous for the air crews as...Muslims...need I say more? Essentially, they would need to be transported in chains.
