The following is a statement from UAW President Dennis Williams in reference to a tweet from President-Elect Donald Trump regarding the Chevy Cruze and today’s announcement by Ford Motor Company that Ford is cancelling plans for a new plant in Mexico and investing $700 million at their Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan.
“The UAW has long believed that companies that sell in our country should build their products in our country. We are proud of the quality of work in Lordstown with the Cruze sedan and we welcome Ford’s Flat Rock announcement today.”
But do they still support Hillary and say Trump isn’t their president.
Hey Dennis - do you think that this would have happened if your open borders girlfriend, Hillary, had been elected? Or does supporting the Democratic Party at any cost take priority over creating jobs for your members?
No acknowledgement of President Elect Trump’s influence in this decision?

To be price competitive, union contracts need to be re-negotiated. Downward.
Congress gets a $1,000 monthly benefit to lease or buy a vehicle. If they use the benefit, how about the vehicle must be made in this country? Or no benefit.

Apparently that is the case. Even though FORD in their statement acknowledged Trump’s policy changes were the deciding factor, it is beneath him to thank President elect Donald J. Trump as well.

But that would mean that they would have to give up their Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Acura, or Audi! With the exception of Black Chevrolet Suburbans, these turds all drive foreign cars.

FYI, there are BMW’s and Mercedes Benz’ made in the U.S.
And BTW, I have seen a U.S. Government “G” tagged Hyundai Sonata in and around Montgomery.
I am pro-choice on the car issue. :) If they want to drive a vehicle not made in this country, THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, NOT USE THEIR PERK.

Very true, but like the US automakers, they don’t build everything they sell here. My wife has a BMW Convertable, which was build in Regensburg, Germany, while the coupes and sedans of the same model year were built in North Carolina. Plus. like the Japanese, they import the high-value components ( i.e. engines and transmissions and the like) from their home country. We need to tighten up on percent of content on the foreign automakers.
