If there are debates in 2020, they presumably will be actual debates in which the participants debate each other rather than kowtowing to a journalist “moderator.” No holds barred, and no moderator to protect you (if you’re a Democrat) or torpedo you (if you are a Republican).
The only “moderator” needed is a chess timer to even out control of the microphone.
Hillary liked the “debates” this year; under the fair rules I outline she more likely might have run away from them shrieking.

Yes . . . simple folks such as myself, understand the pressure of time in a forum such as it is. We understand the battle being waged to control the narrative. We understand any pause allows others to step on you. However . . . The delivery of facts can be just as important as the facts themselves.
I suppose thats why many great orators come from the South. Many speak slowly and with intonation . . . clearly making their point. Folks like me actually understand what the hell they are saying.
