Democrats Have a Religion Problem
The Atlantic ^ | December 29, 2016 | Emma Green

There aren’t many people like Michael Wear in today’s Democratic Party. The former director of Barack Obama’s 2012 faith-outreach efforts is a theologically conservative evangelical Christian. He is opposed to both abortion and same-sex marriage, although he would argue that those are primarily theological positions, and other issues, including poverty and immigration, are also important to his faith.

During his time working for Obama, Wear was often alone in many of his views, he writes in his new book, Reclaiming Hope. He helped with faith-outreach strategies for Obama’s 2008 campaign, but was surprised when some state-level officials decided not to pursue this kind of engagement: “Sometimes—as I came to understand the more I worked in politics—a person’s reaction to religious ideas is not ideological at all, but personal,” he writes.

(Yeah, it’s ONE thing to be a feckless sheep being fleeced—which is the way it is for many grassroots who remain Democrats ... some Democrats-in-Name-Only... due to family tradition...’tis another to be a pied piper attempting to steal sheep to blindly follow their political cause)

The Bible calls for strong families. The lefties want to replace parents with the State. Oil and water. Leftism is the enemy of religion. The Twain cannot meet.

Re: 13

Sorry about responding to another of your posts (I'm not stalking you), but you were kind enough to have waded through the Atlantic article and I have to comment on this snippet by Michael Wear:

"...We also need to have a robust conversation about the support or allowance for racism, misogyny, and Islamophobia in the evangelical tradition..."

What does that even mean? He comes to the table will some condescending presumptions to begin his imaginary 'robust conversation'.
No one cares about the 'evangelical tradition'. The question is What does the Bible say? I.e., What does God say?
There is no racism allowed (tell that to the race baiters and race dividers in the Democrat party. Starting with - why would anyone vote for an unqualified candidate just because of his skin color? I am talking about you - Obama).
There is no misogyny - man and woman are created in God's image. Except, of course, the feminist wing in the Democrat party are going to brand God (who created them) a misogynist because men are supposed to be the heads, and leaders, of their households; and only men are allowed to preach in the Church.

Re: 24

My comments on Islamophobia somehow fell off of my reply on Post 24. Perhaps I was too hasty. I'll try a reset:

Islamophobia - first, and foremost, as Christians we love the lost. We were lost sinners, and the LORD loved us and saved us. The least we can do, is to reciprocate (albeit in just a minuscule fraction compared to the gift we received) in like manner to the lost.
Muslims are lost. They are trapped in a Satanic religion which 99.9999% of them did not choose. They were born into it, and if they decide to leave they get an automatic death sentence. Therefore most choose not to even consider leaving (or contemplating the fact that the religion is evil and based on a Satanic book) - because they know the consequences.
That said, God has placed us as leaders of our families, and the Commandment 'Thou shalt not murder' , also applies to not being cavalier with the safety of our families. It is wrong to wholesale import people who pledge allegiance to a book/religion that tells them to kill us, and to destroy our society. If Michael Wear wants to brand this as Islamophobia - so be it. It is not Biblical to knowingly place our families, and Nation, in harms way.
