The gun background check law knows as Question 1 just passed by 9,000 votes statewide. The ink isn’t even dry and Sheriff Lombardo has come out today supporting legislation to ban gun magazines with more than 10 rounds.

As reported in the Las Vegas Sun today, Lombardo said “I’m a very avid hunter, I was in the military myself, and there’s no need to have a high-capacity magazine for any practical reason”

Lombardo was the only sheriff in the state out of 17 to not oppose Question 1, the Bloomberg background check law.

Please calibfornia, annex Clark county. It took a little looking but I did find this piece that pushes the high cap mag issue. So, this, if placed in to law, will stop all assaults and put an end to crime in Nevada as we know it. Said no one ever. But, to them, it's a good first step. Hmmmm. Why would one need a good first step if more steps were not to follow. And yes, Clark county was the only one in the state to pass question 1 with enough votes to overcome the rest of the state. Uh, sheriff, NEED is not a valid "reason".

Another stunning misunderstanding or disregarding of the 2nd amendment. Its not about hunting, its not about needing a “practical need”, its about owning enough firepower to control politicians and agents of the government when the people deem it necessary.

When confronted by a mob of 15 “youths”, I want a 15 round magazine.

I think gun magazines should be limited to no more than 20 pages.

Clark County would be sweet for Nevada to transfer over to California.
Most of the problems they endure are very likely created in Clark County.

Hmmm. I have a great idea. We could trade moonbeam jerry Clark county for all of Lake Tahoe and 20 miles west along the northern borders between NV and CA. Of course the Coast Guard folks might not like it. Since it’s an interstate waterway, they like it there.

No way! We need national legislation to preempt these local idiots from redefining our 2nd amendment out of existence.

If there is no “practical reason” for +10 round magazines, law enforcement should cough theirs up (first).

We should test the hypothesis before imposing it on the general public.

Well I wish Nevada. Oils end all this bs. Maybe there a way to keep Bloomberg out? Anyway. We were shopping to
Move there until this regulation crap started. Is it really dead or is there a way Bloomberg and pals can resurrect it? Thanks

"... Clark county was the only one in the state to pass question 1 with enough votes to overcome the rest of the state."

Good reason to implement something like the Electoral College at the state level?

I will draw the line when they stop with the centerfold models.

I think gun magazines should be limited to no more than 20 pages.

Californians Please stop trying to ruin Nevada!

Nevada has a long history of Laissez-faire attitudes.

Shoot in Vegas you have Full Auto machine gun ranges.

Damn Nanny-Staters.

there’s no need to have a high-capacity magazine for any practical reason

Uh huh. And Ronald Reagan didn't think there was any practical reason for peasants to own full auto, so he outlawed private citizens from owning any full auto manufactured after '86. That effectively put machine guns out of reach for all but the well-to-do.

Our founding fathers intended for us to have the same arms as our masters, in the event government accomplishes what it obviously intends, viz. to destroy us as a free people.

The NV sheriff is an elitist snob thinking that only he is trustworthy and intelligent enough to own the mags in question.

You first; order your department to comply with all gun control laws including when they are travelling in their cars, as well as any proposed legislation you want.

What? That’s not fair? What’s not fair is a legal system which grants itself special privileges while systematically denying those same rights to the citizens.
