Gran Torino - GREAT movie
The only reason San Fran isn’t Detroit yet is its incredible natural beauty and weather. People will put up with a lot of crap to live in a place like that. But everybody has their limits.
What a beautiful place to see go down the crapper but I must say I’m delighted. You reap what you sow........
Might have something to do with “Reap What You Sow.”
We had a nice place on the canal in Greenbrae, left in 1994 when the county decided that they were going to spend a million bucks on a shelter for all the illegals. Never looked back. The only thing we miss are the restaurants.
No no no... NEVER will liberal progressives admit failure. It is ALWAYS the fault of a sneaky republican somewhere. Even after 60 years Cuba still blames the US for all the problems. San Fran will blame the 3 or 4 republicans left in the assembly. After years of mismanagement of the water supply in Flint Michigan it suddenly became the Republican gov’s fault. Detroit is a miserable failure and it’s all the conservative whites who refuse to live in that city and pay outrageous taxes. After Obama got everything he wanted and spend 10 trillion dollars of debt it’s still the fault of the powerless and ball less republicans.
Nothing a 100 billion dollar high speed rail between Stockton and Bakersfield won’t fix.
That can’t be right, it’s not showing anything on Nancy Pelosi drive. Someone needs to fix that
The homeless are no doubt protesting Trump. Defecating & urinating in public on the sidewalk is an exercise of free speech. So it is Trump's fault. (And GW is one happy man. He thought he would never get rid of being blamed for everything.)
San Fran has impossibly expensive homes so don’t anybody worry....they’ll still tout it as the best place to visit, ignoring the filth...
these younger generations protest FOR the govt and the establishment...
FOR them....
they're good little govt statists....good little slaves...
The New Red Guards.
in Detroit, do they have up and coming clean neighborhoods?....is there a place for whitey or not?
Yes and yes. I won’t sugar coat it and tell you Detroit is back, but will tell you a lot of private money is being invested, specifically in the midtown area. Midtown is not far from Ford field and Comerica Park. There’s a brand new arena being built for the new home of rhe Red Wings and Pistons. Included in the plans are new shops and condos. Quicken loans is investing a ton of money on their downtown HQ, bringing in lots of young talent. The Woodward corridor is growing with lots of bars and restaurants. Woodward avenue connects downtown with some very nice, up and coming towns (Royal Oak).
The city’s mayor is a democrat that governs like your average Republican. Republicans don’t get elected in Detroit, yet. Long way to go though!
Yes, when I went through SF for the first time I was shocked and told my husband that it was as dirty as Bangkok.
(Snicker.) Did you wackadoodles really think you could run a major city?
Many of which are also gone now, because California makes it too difficult to operate a business smaller than McDonalds.
“The only thing we miss are the restaurants.”
I was stationed in the bay area back in the 70s and 80s. I was never impressed by the restaurants.
For fine dining, it’s the Boston - D.C. corridor.
